That’s good. Remember to put a Beatles poster on your dorm wall.

@Ahhh Girl Oh I will, don’t you worry! Actually, I’m probably not staying in the dorms, but rather in my cousin’s house about 2 minutes from the college. She too is a big Beatles fan.

I don’t typically give out the right answers on this thread, but to hell with it, I’m going to give you guys the honest answer instead of the preferred wrong answer, I’m sorry if you don’t want to hear the truth, it’s not like I have to lie, so here’s the truth, no joke. The Beatles 1966 US tour was not to promote their Revolver album, but rather their Yesterday And Today album, a common misconception among Beatles fans.
They used the same setlist as on the tour of Germany, Japan and the Philippians and they weren’t promoting ‘Yesterday and Today’ for those shows. The most simple reason is they couldn’t be bothered rehearsing new songs, the music was getting more difficult to produce on stage to their own standards so they didn’t see the point of spending time on doing so.
Why would they choose to promote an album that had been out for 6 weeks over one that had been out for 4 days?
They definitely weren’t promoting Revolver because they didn’t play a single song from that album. As for why the Non-US dates weren’t supporting an album that the US dates were, Yesterday And Today is a US album, meaning it was only released in the US and Canada. I believe their 1966 US tour was supporting Yesterday And Today because they played songs from that album on this tour whereas they never played anything from US Rubber Soul or Revolver on these tours.

I believe their 1966 US tour was supporting Yesterday And Today because they played songs from that album on this tour whereas they never played anything from US Rubber Soul or Revolver on these tours.
They played the material they toured with from the 24th June to the 4th July in the World Tour when ‘Revolver ‘ hadn’t been released and didn’t want to rehearse new material for another tour they didn’t have the desire for. The set-list for the 1966 tours changed 3 songs from the 1965 UK tour; Ringo returned to an oldie, ‘I Wanna Be Your Man ‘, they plugged their latest single ‘Paperback Writer ‘ whilst removing one side of the previous UK single, ‘We Can Work It Out , and ‘Help ‘ was replaced by another oldie, ‘Rock And Roll Music ‘. Not exactly a huge shift.
They didn’t sit down and decide to play a set-list in other countries that plugged an album that wasn’t released in them.
You can sit and claim, for example, they played ‘Nowhere Man ‘ as it was a US single but they selected it for a tour months before it was released by Capital as an A-side. The simple truth was they knew it and didn’t have to learn anything else – unless you want to believe they were practising it for a tour 9 months later.

When I was a senior in high school, I wanted to be far away from my parents. I wouldn’t even consider any school that was in Illinois. Come my super-senior year of college, I was really hating myself for choosing that. Four hundred miles (approx. 645 km) is a long drive.

At least i’m way out of driving (rain) range. When I have to come home, a plane flight is a plane flight. Fortunately there is so much to do in the Northwest during vacations that most of the time I probably won’t have to come home.

In a PM with Martha very recently, the topic of my tummy bug popped up*, and @Martha made this wonderful little poem about me!
The Hole Got Sick
but the sickness got fixed
so now he’s
A Hole Lot Better!
*of course I made a typo: pooped.
Edit: Also, I was just listening to a demo a recorded at night because my head wasn’t allowing me to sleep until I recorded the melody/words, and I kid you not: it was exactly the same melody as Baby’s In Black . And half the words were the same, too.

No idea where to ask this.
When were The Bee Gees competitors to the Beatles? I know they were around in the late 1960’s but I’ve never seen them mentioned anywhere as any sort of rivals.
And dear me, ‘Jive Talking’ is a shocking record.
