Someone wrote AITL on the board at the front of the conference room. I have refrained from going up there and adding the D. It is going to bug me throughout this whole conference.

New Topic: So my ward does this senior roast and toast thing every year where we say goodbye to the high school seniors. One of the things that happens is we play videos that show pictures throughout the seniors’ life to a song of their choosing. Since I am a senior this year, I get to have a video, however I’m not sure what song to use. I don’t want to do “In My Life ” because that one is too overused for these kinds of things. I was thinking of doing George’s “Any Road” because it fits the mystery of life that I’m about to enter. However, I wanted to get some other suggestions. Can you guys think of a Beatles(as a band or solo) song that would be good to use for my video?

Go with The End because this is your senior year. If that’s too short, do Golden Slumbers /Carry That Weight /The End .
Anyways, I noticed @Ron Nasty was online so I thought I’d ask, why was there no mono 8 tracks, they could’ve had 8 programs that they could’ve either played at normal speed and would’ve been able to fit albums like The Beatles and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road onto a single 8 track or they could’ve played it at double speed, enhancing the audio quality, as well as giving us more points to choose from because most 8 tracks only let you choose between 4 points or programs, but if you had 8 mono tracks instead of 4 stereo, you could in theory have 8 points to choose from.

Eight tracks started coming in in the mid-Sixties (the first Beatles eight track was the 1965 US edition of Rubber Soul ). The earliest Beatles eight tracks are all US releases, a market that was already ahead of the UK in the move to stereo.
Given that a move was being made to stereo on both shores of the Atlantic, and that eight track was a niche market (though existing longer than most people think, the last Beatles eight track being 1982’s Reel Music), they would stick to stereo releases.
In my opinion, @Dark Overlord, had eight track properly taken off as a format, mono versions would have appeared, but it didn’t because the much less awkward cassette came along, a format on which mono versions were released.
If you’re not selling that many eight tracks, you’re not going to bother with the expense of offering them in different formats (mono/stereo).
Just my opinion though.

How about some Paul? No Words or Picasso’s Last Words would both be good.
The Whole Abbey Road Medley would also be badass.
I actually just had a senior slideshow shown tonight. The song I chose was Just Like Tom Thumbs Blues by Bob Dylan.

Actually, 8 tracks lasted even longer than that. Although 8 tracks were being commercially released until about 1982, they were available via mail order until 1988, with some surprisingly late mail order only releases including Van Halen’s 1984, Beastie Boys License To Ill (possibly, unable to find photographic proof), Michael Jackson’s Bad, and George Harrison ‘s Cloud Nine , with the last 8 tracks being made in 1988, which means that 8 tracks were being made at the same time as CD’s.

There’s been a spider inbetween my window for a couple of days now, and it’s barely moved. I’d like to get it out of there, but I can’t.
Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to accept that it’s staying. He’s now called Boris.

Back in the 60’s it used to be this show:
I’m surprised The Beatles never sued the circus over the false claim they were given. In all honesty, I don’t know, I hate almost everything new nowadays, if we pretend it’s 2005, The Simpsons are the greatest show on earth, SpongeBob is at his popularity peak, flip phones are the hottest new trend, Windows Vista is still in development and the Xbox 360 is brand new, I am 6 years old, meanmistermustard is in his 20’s, and Jetix is actually a channel rather than a nostalgic memory.
