^They were good, very good, well deserved. I quite liked Belgium, Norway and The Netherlands as well (still annoyed they didn’t win 2014 Eurovision tbh).
Also well done to the UK for not getting near the bottom of the board (ye were so close to the left-hand side ).
(She said as Ireland failed to qualify for the 4th year in a row)

I admit that I`ve never really completely understood Eurovision. In fact, I only found out about its existence roughly 4-5 months ago.

Glad that you liked the spanish song @The Hole Got Fixed, you are the first person i met who liked it.
I think Spain was pain. Besides the singer is a dick so he got what he deserved.
I think we should quit Eurovision once and for all. It’s just a waste of time and money for us.
Portugal was ok, the singers did it very well.

I really liked Hungary and the Ukraine; wonder why the latter was rated so poorly!? But Portugal had a nice song, they deserved it!
By the way, I think that events like the ESC and football championships are more important than ever in times like this where every country in Europe has to deal with ground gaining nationalist. However, the complicated light shows and stage backgrounds accompanying each piece are a little exaggerated – they are really a waste of money.
Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

I try not to judge performances on someone’s personality @Shamrock Womlbs; rather I judge it on the music. I don’t like him, but I liked the song.

I don’t like him nor his staging nor his song
And, as additional info, i added that he’s a dick and that he got what he deserved.

@Martha you’re welcome for our 3 Jury points, without them ye’d have been last for the 3rd year in a row …phew .
Thank you Ireland, we love you!
The best thing is how the German press always tries to analyze our failure as if we were talking about a national emergency. The typical conclusion: We did our best, it wasn’t our fault. Hilarious! It was totally deserved.

It’s the same with the Irish crowd “BUT WE’VE WON EUROVISION THE MOST TIMES, IT’S A FIX I TELL YOU, A FIX!!!!!!”. Nah we’re just sending crap, boring ballads with poor staging, singing and poor presence from the performer. We’ve only sent one good act in the past few years and that was Molly Sterling who failed to get through because of poor placing way too early in the show.
The only proper fix you could see was Greece’s 12 points for Cyprus and vice versa.

Don’t the countries vote?
Cause it could just be rl alliances and not the singers.

They do but it’s always been neighbouring countries voting for one another: All of the Nordics vote for one another, Austria will vote for Germany, Germany will vote for Austria, Switzerland will vote for France, Italy and Germany etc. etc. Which makes it unfair for lone countries like Ireland and the UK, who only vote for another (hey we gave ye 4 points this year UK, stop bitchin’ ! ) and countries who hate their neighbours. From the Wiki
Several countries can be categorised as voting blocs, which regularly award one another high points:
- Greece and Cyprus
- Turkey and Azerbaijan
- English-speaking countries or countries of the Commonwealth: Australia, Malta, Ireland and the United Kingdom
- Austria, Germany and Switzerland
- The Netherlands and Belgium
- Andorra, Portugal and Spain
- The Nordic states: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland
- The Baltic states: Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania
- Romania and Moldova, acting as a bridge between the Balkan and Warsaw Pact states
- The Balkan countries:
- Macedonia and Albania
- The former Yugoslav countries: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Croatia
- The former USSR countries of Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Moldova

In Eurovision it was accepted a good while again that too many countries won’t vote for the UK regardless of the song. It’s a good excuse for why we have done so poorly over the last few decades and conveniently ignores the fact that most of those entries have been embarrassing bordering on an insult to ourselves and everyone else.
