I think for albums it would be more or less a tie between Revolver and the White Album as my favourites. As for music styles, I love the acoustic stuff, and I’ve got a soft spot for Paul’s “granny music”.
Yay, we’ve got a lot in common here!
My favourite album is definitely Revolver but the White Album is so close. And I really like Paul’s ”granny music” too. Especially Your Mother Should Know , Martha My Dear and Honey Pie are so charming you simply cannot resist smiling.
All in all, I like their psychedelic, mystical, or experimental songs best though.

Revolver is my best album. It’s crystallised Beatleness in the best packaging I’ve ever seen, and it never gets old*. I like many of the tracks on the White Album , but I cannot get into it as a whole… too long, too eclectic. I mean, Revolver is eclectic too, but somehow it feels more cohesive to me… I can sit down and listen to it as a unit, like I’m consuming a meal, and it satisfies. Same goes for Abbey Road and Rubber Soul . That’s important to me, but for those who don’t care as much about how well an album is as a unit, I can see why you like the WA. I mostly cherrypick from it, and when I do listen to the whole thing, it’s more as background when I want a nice long chunk of noise to get something done to.
I feel ye @The Hole Got Fixed, during my Beatles marathon, I was at about Don’t Pass Me By and thinking, Right, is it time for Get Back / Dont Let Me Down yet? I love my albums, but I’m accustomed to their being about thirty-five to forty-five minutes long; any longer than fifty minutes and it begins to drag.
My other favourites currently include Beatles For Sale , With The Beatles , and Let It Be , while, shockingly, I don’t really get into Please Please Me , except for historical reasons. I guess that’s pretty off the beaten path… that’s not exactly the majority opinion. But, again, I love them all mostly equally.
*Not that any of them do get old, but Revolver gets old even less.

Am I the only one who thinks The White Album is thrilling through and through? Every song kicks ass in its own unique way. I’ve listened to it all the way hundreds of times and never gotten tired of it. It can’t beat Revolver and Abbey Road for me though. Nothing can. Rubber Soul and AHDN come in a close 4th and 5th.

I need some advice. My mum is more and more frequently flying off the handle, usually towards me. Latest example:
Tonight, I got scared by a face (my dad’s) at the back door, and I said ‘aargh’. Not particularly loudly, but at the same time as my dad opening the door. That was enough to scare the cat, who jumped off my mum’s lap, and also dug his claws in at the same time. She then flew into a fit of rage, throwing the tv remote, almost breaking it, and then smashing her wine glass down on the table, breaking it. I couldn’t get a word in edgeways to prove my innocence, and so it went on, blah blah blah. This is really pissing me (and my dad) off now. (It’s been like this for almost 2 years I think).
I need advice as to how to deal with this, please. It’s now getting to a point where I can’t handle it anymore.

I know it’s difficult, but try not to take it personally. It sounds like she’s got other stresses in her life which she’s not managing well, and they’re manifesting in unpredictable outbursts. Is she unhappy in her job, marriage or some other important area? Or depressed, or struggling with her (mental or physical) health?
I’ve been in a similar situation to you. It was bewildering, but in my case there was a fairly simple reason which was unrelated to me (and which I didn’t find out about until some years later). Be assured there probably is a reason. It might be beyond your ability to fix it, but the most positive thing you can do it to start a discussion.
Try to get her to open up, and be a sympathetic, kind listener. If you can’t do that, ask your dad to help get a conversation going. A toxic atmosphere in the family won’t improve unless all parties work to make it better, or until the external factor (if there is one) gets resolved. Good luck to you.

I recently ripped what of my CDs I had not yet backed up and added them to my phone. Well, due to the fact that they were wav files and not mp3 (I think), the automatic album/artist-sorter function didn’t work properly, and they all decided to be under the cover of The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (which was among the albums I added), and I had to manually separate my albums into playlists. So now my playlists look like this:
It had to be the trippy psychedelic prismatic cover, of course. It’s All Too Much

Thanks. I suppose that having to care for her mum (who lives next door) will be stressing her a bit. She’s also probably not terribly physically fit.

I’ll probably need my dad’s help with that. I do see why it’s a good idea to do this. Thank you very, very much for the advice!
Oh, @Beatlebug, WAVs are far superior quality to MP3s.

@The Hole Got Fixed I suspected as much, and Silly Dad said there are ways to get around the automatic album/artist/cover art sorting.

It is absolutely fantastic! I think you’re bound to like at least some of it, anyways.

I just Googled the lyrics to Another Day .
I got the lyrics to the Dream Theater song by that name
It seems that the lyrics to ‘Another Day ‘ by Paul McCartney are not on Google Play except under ‘Early Days ‘ by Paul McCartney …
