I haven’t seen AppleScruffJunior since 11 February.
I was wondering if anyone would realise that I appeared to have dropped off the face of the earth (so thanks for remembering me!).
My modem self-combusted on Friday. I called Vodafone and they said they’d sent one out on Monday, so that was Saturday and Sunday sans net (the withdrawal symptoms were terrifying to say the least). The modem arrived on Monday but would not for the life of it work- I was very anxious that day because I wanted to know if the Game of Thrones season 6 trailer had been released yet (spoiler: it isn’t).
Anyways, I rang Vodafone on Monday again saying that the modem still wasn’t working and a cute-sounding English lad told me that he’d lodge a fault and an engineer would be sent out. I thought “oh great I’ll get internet sometime this week then, maybe towards the end of it”. Cute English lad told me that I’d have to go half-an-hour to the nearest big town to buy a dongle (as made famous by Ron Nasty on this here forum). So I drove to said town, drove back, put the dongle in the laptop and…..
….
…
…
…
it didn’t work. So I rang Vodafone AGAIN and got told by a man that I wouldn’t be able to make changes to the account because the account wasn’t in my name (it’s in my dad’s) this went on for 10 minutes saying “I’m his daughter, he’s at work, I’m allowed to do work on this account” and I got nowhere. Finally I said if I gave them his number to ring him would they let me finally work something out with the stupid dongle. They said yes and yada yada they got confirmation from dad to say that surprise, surprise I was allowed to get help from the Vodafone men. Vodafone man said it was a problem with the SIM card. I was not going driving another hour to get a stupid SIM card so luckily my dad was in the big town so he got the SIM card for me (although the people who sold the dongle to me said nothing was wrong with the SIM card at all…….liars).
Cue to today and around 2pm, some Vodafone engineer arrives at the door and fixes our modem for us (turns out Vodafone gave us too long a cable or something and the internet couldn’t travel through it…..I don’t know to be honest) and then we got internet. I’ve been at uni since 4pm and I only got back now so I hadn’t time to go on the internet ’til now…and well here I am.

Offline I hate that computer troubles. I can’t use my computer since my charger went missing and finding a new one is a pain.
Electronic computer stuff should be made a lot easyier.

Offline One of @Joe’s pet peeves (actually it’s deeper than a pet peeve) is when the All Together Now section takes over the forum. He wants to keep the Beatley focus as much as possible, for one, to not discourage new people from getting mostly doses of Beatles when the first look in on us. So, @Starr Shine?, it would be nice of you to do Joe a favor and revive old ATN threads at a rate of one a day. Also, that will give people who haven’t read through the older threads a chance to…most folks don’t have enough spare time to read through 20 old threads a day.

(And no it isn’t selfish, I have taken far too bloody long to get it done- I told someone that it would take me about 3 months to get it all finished…woops. I just have project work and class and everything so it’s a bit difficult to get sometime to sit down and translate).
I was going to have it for New Year’s Day 2016 but I hit a snag and fell asleep before finishing it >.>
I’m working in Galway by myself for two weeks at the end of the month, so I’ll make sure to bring the book with me and get a chapter or two done 😛
