I’m assuming SG has sailed past me on the post count and it’s just waiting to update.
But not knocking me off the list as someone incorrectly predicted many moons ago

In actual point of fact, as of… NOW! you’ve still got three posts on me
But It Won’t Be Long !
We’ll be doing some swapping about, I imagine… unless one of us takes a LLL* leave of absence and comes back to find the other has sailed past and climbed to the top… not likely.
*I couldn’t be bothered to type out the whole song title

Hello fellow friends! I have a question regarding singing. Since I’m taking my voice lesson class for the rest of 7th grade, and we’re able to choose any song to sing.
Do you have any suggestions of what Beatles songs to sing for that? The only ones I’ve come up with are Let It Be and We Can Work It Out . There aren’t really requirements for the song length or whatever, but I’d prefer something less than 4 or so minutes (a little over is fine) and something not super slow or really fast.
Thanks for the help 🙂

@natureaker We Can Work It Out I find difficult to sing well (it’s in a high key) and your range is similar to mine, so I wouldn’t recommend it. Let It Be is a song for a confident singer as it’s very rangey.
I second AD40’s suggestion, I Will has a lovely melody and it’s pretty easy to sing. And it’s one of my favourites.

Here, There And Everywhere ? Goes pretty high but Paul sings it with a falsetto.

Yeah, but it’s a love song to a female and has some, er, vivid imagery. I’m perfectly fine with singing things like ‘…running my hands through her hair…’ but natureaker might not be. Or her teacher and classmates might not be.

Not as vivid as “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?.”
(DON’T sing that one, natureaker.)

You know, this exchange reminds me of something I haven’t thought about in a long time.
Back when I was in seventh grade (we’re talking a good decade+ ago here), we had a karaoke contest for my entire seventh-grade class (I don’t remember, let’s say two or three hundred students) as an end-of-the-year assembly. Our teachers had us sign up and choose from a list of song selections. I signed up to do Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall” not knowing which version I would be singing. Luckily, it was the right one. The karaoke version of it was led in by “The Happiest Days Of Our Lives” and by the second verse of “Another Brick In The Wall (Part II),” the entire class was singing along with me.
“We don’t need no education.
We don’t need no thought control.
No dark sarcasm in the classroom.
Teacher leave them kids alone.
Hey! Teacher! Leave those kids alone!
All in all it’s just another brick in the wall.”
I didn’t win, but I later found out that I was in the top three. Maybe I would have won if I didn’t have a sore throat that day.
Gawd, I wish I had that performance on video. It was glorious.

Well, from a practical point of view, it’s a technically difficult song to sing, and unless I’m underestimating @natureaker’s vocal capacities very much, I doubt she’d be able to successfully represent that ‘lusty Paul roar’.
Oops– steady on there Ahhh Girl

She could do something complete different with the song. Like she could sing Why Don’t We Do It In The Road to the tune of Revolution 9
