Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts. He arrived safely to Guadalajara, today he's going to see Lady Gaga in concert and he's going to spend a few days over there having fun with his friends!

I'm not glad that he's dead, but I'm not going to mourn him either. In Mexico we have a saying “That one who kills with a sword will die by the sword” (El que a hierro mata, a hierro muere).
I think it’s important to forgive the person who does terrible things to you, so you can move on. I have never been in that situation (thank God ) but I think it would be very difficult to do it.
I just think in all the soldiers who are there. Most of them are truly believe in doing the right thing. My heart and prayers go with them (I know some so…)

You need to forgive the people who hurt you, because that’s good for you. Holding hate in your soul will consume you.
Have you heard about Javier Sicilia? He’s a poet whose son was killed some weeks ago, and he’s organizing a movement to stop bloodshed in my country. He pretty much says “I will forgive the ones who killed my son, but I won’t forget the crime. Justice must be done. No more blood.”
I think that’s the right thing to do (at least in my personal opinion). No mas sangre.

On the whole OBL thing, I’m all about conspiracy theories so … I don’t even believe he’s dead. Or, maybe he is and has been dead a long time and the government waited until a strategic moment to tell the public. I don’t know, I just don’t trust anything they say. But yes, I do vote. ANYWAY!

Offline I would guess that he’s been dead for years, again we’re talking about someone with failing kidneys who’s been running around in caves for the last ten years. But you’re exactly right because we’re basing this off of what they’ve told us, and just because the media repeats something a million times doesn’t make it a million times more true. We’ve seen no real proof, of course the body was buried at sea so no one could ever see it again. So yeah, just because Obama and some elite military group say it’s true and the media repeats it every two seconds doesn’t necessarily guarantee that the truth has been told here and Obama and the military will both benefit tremendously from this, so there’s your motive.

“We’re going to be out of the Middle East in 18 months” …..er…..
“I’m going to get rid of the Patriot Act” when in fact he’s just expanded it.
“I’m going to shut down Guantanamo Bay” which hasn’t happened.

Offline Thank you Zig! Actually I was going to post something about it.
Thank you so much. You wanna know the funny thing? In Mexico this date is important, but not that big. Some school have the day off and that's all. But It's an important day to remember. It was the day when Mexican Army kicked Napoleon III's French army's ass in Puebla. 
So.. are you gonna eat some Mexican food Zig? I have this craving for Tortas de la Barda….

Offline Oh Hell yes, mith! Mexican food is my absolute favorite. Although what we get here is probably closer to “Tex-Mex”.
We used to celebrate it a lot more when we lived in Arizona because there were a lot more Mexican people living there and a lot more places to party.
Now, in Maine, we pretty much get Mexican take-out (we will tonight!) and a couple of ice cold Coronas.
Does your school have the day off?

Offline I see what you’re saying Mr Sun King , perhaps I’m just cynical but I just can’t really stand that people are treating him like the “Obama-ssiah” again after this bin Laden stuff. Oh well, politics are politics.
And happy Cinco de Mayo, we had a potluck at work and I ate far too much beans and rice. Now for a few margarita’s.
