^ At least they’re voting. To many people don’t vote.
I’d far rather folk voted knowing more than “i like x and he/she votes for y so i’ll vote for y”. Voting in elections is not the same as voting to keep some singer in a pop show so shouldn’t be treated as such.

Well I think you should vote, only when you know what the parties stand for, or if you know what party will fit your interests and what you want and what they stand for. One shouldn’t vote just for the sake of voting. Every vote counts, and that’s what people should keep in mind.
On the subject of voting because a celebrity votes for something. Well, you can look at it more ways than one. You can say ”Well, someone should think for themselves, and not vote Tory just because friggin Shakira says so” or you can say ”Hey, he says this and that about that party, and I actually hadn’t really looked at it that way before. I actually agree on that, and I think this and that could help me. I might vote for them”.
And I agree on both those points. It’s not bad if that can help you decide, but if it’s just a plain commercial for a party and you’re just a sheep who votes for the Labour party just because Harry Styles says it’s awesome man, then you should really think a bit more.

Sue Barker (the face of BBC tennis) says she’s looking forward to England playing the Aussies in the Davies Cup semi-finals. Not sure why when Andy and Jamie Murray are both Scottish and without Andy especially team GB would struggle to beat the Aussie under 12’s who were blindfolded and just throwing their rackets randomly through the air.

You make a sensible and reasoned point….and totally unbiased.
It is interesting to me just how much Britain/Scotland owe to Andy and Jamie’s mum. I was thinking the other day if I’d been more forceful and controlling with my son in a way similar to Mrs Murray…..and Richard Williams….have been with their children you can create talent.
As for the match they played in Scottish colours.
We know Andy’s loyalty. Despite that and without being allowed to take any credit,(not being Scottish), we still cheer him on. Would you rather we didn’t?

Totally unbiased.
I’m fine with cheering him on just dont be so stupid to think and say its England who are in the semi-finals. After Andy Murray its that huge name of tennis Aljaz Bedene (yeah, i didnt know he existed until i looked it up 2 minute ago) who’s at the giddy ranking heights of #74 – oh and he only became legible to represent Britain in March 2015. James Ward is world #109 and lost the opening match of the quarter final 3-0.
The tactics are clearly god help us if Andy doesnt play (and win). Which is fine. Its the same as the Walsh football team have with Gareth Bale and Portugal adopt with Ronaldo. Would be stupid to do it any other way as you play to your advantage.
Its interesting that Murray ditched training in Britain and went off to Spain. Maybe all the British tennis players should.

Changing subject to an odd rambling musing.
Its funny how the top 10 posters list works out. For a long time it was pretty settled with little movement between members and then for a period it went a bit funny with so many of the newbies rising up the list. And now its settled back down with little looking to change for a while. AG (#2) is almost 5 1/2k behind me yet ahead of Anna (#3) by over 1000. Parlance (#4) and mr. Sun king (#5) arent posting often now which takes us to Zig (#6) who is 600+ behind mSk at the moment. With Mr. Kite (#7) off being busy and mith (#8) sadly not a regular at the moment (tho thanksfully pops by every Now And Then ) its Ron Nasty (#9) who might pass them but he’s 423 behind mith and trcanberra (#10) is 197 posts further adrift.
I wonder who’s closest to next appearing on the chart.

Spain……Not Scotland?
But yes, without Murray from Dunblane and his brother……. And his formidable mum, GB wouldn’t be anywhere. Can we take that point as accepted?
He’s a great player and you should take full credit…..(as you do!), just as England should for the British invasion of the American charts in the Sixties led by those great British bands, The Beatles The Stones, Dave Clark 5, Hollies, Herman’s Hermits….(He might have been German), Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Kinks….Then later …..The Who, Cream (one was) and later than that that great Scottish band Led Zeppelin. All Best of British.
Just joking with you…….It’s swings and roundabouts. Let’s just enjoy ‘Team GB Tennis’, in this case it’s a very bonny one with Murray playing lead racket….But it’s still a team and shows what we can do together.
If it makes you feel better….Next to the Beatles my absolute favourite band is Scottish ‘Del Amitri’ despite them doing a Scottish World cup song.
For anyone not aware of them here they are in their ‘pomp’
A band so good that they could afford not to even release a song as good as ‘Drowned on Dry Land’ it only appears in this video as the meat in the sandwich of ‘Be My Downfall.’
