Just WOW! What about Guy Smiley would make any right-minded person think of Me and My Monkey?
Right minded? Thanks for the benefit of the doubt. I was just looking for song titles that his name would fit into. I got as far as the E’s and started laughing when I got to that one. The idea just kinda took off from there.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I didn’t know you had a monkey… never really thought of it, I suppose…
@Zig, I am seriously going to either find or create a song parodies thread where you (and possibly I) can frolic to our hearts’ content.

@Zig, I found a restaurant/draft house where you would feel right at home. Their slogan is “The Cure for What Ales You”.

Our library circulation system is haunted. Today, it randomly picked 34 people from the database and checked random books out to them. Some of the accounts had multiple books checked out to them. The books are still in their place in the stacks upstairs. The checkout and due dates are from back in ****2009****. We are freaking afraid of what other glitches may be hiding in the system…or when our library ghost is going to reappear and cause some more havoc.
EDIT: I think we found our ghost. It was someone who decided to push a button to see what would happen. He just remembered that he pushed that button yesterday.

@trcanberra, how big a story in Australia is the murder of Phil Walsh? How major an AFL coach was he? Though it’s leading sports bulletins here, it’s difficult to gauge how major a figure he was in the sport, knowing between nothing and nil about AFL.

Am I the only fiendish thingyperson who almost read ‘Ye Crackerbox Palace’ in the above post?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I just figured out how to upload and post attachments from my phone. I just have to choose desktop mode.
I wonder if that’s the same big flatscreen TV that John Lennon and his art school friends watched in 1958.

From the same day, Ye Mirror in Ye Cracke above the place where they sat engraved with Ye Plaque elsewhere in Ye Cracke that commemorates that…
Ye Plaque reads:
This plaque commemorates John Lennon ‘s ‘other band’ (which never played a note) The Dissenters writer Bill Harry (1939-) musician John Lennon (1940-80) artist Stuart Sutcliffe (1941-62) artist Rod Murray (1937-) In June 1960 these 4 art students attended a poetry reading by Royston Ellis (The ‘Paperback Writer ‘ in Paul McCartney ‘s song 1966); Ellis’s work was heavily influenced by Allen Ginsberg and other Americans. Afterwards, the 4 came here to discuss what they’d heard. They were unimpressed and decided to put Liverpool ‘on the map’ each in their own way as ‘The Dissenters’; The rest is…

The AFL varies in its importance between states and territories in a 4-way struggle with Rugby League, Rugby Union and Football.
Personally never heard of him but I don’t follow the sport – it’s had a lot of coverage here, especially on the sports pages. I guess it’s about the equivalent of something happening to the manager of West Ham.
