About how much prison time would a person get if they were testing experimental/illegal drugs on a minor?

No, I don’t usually think about such creepy things. It’s as research for a story I’m writing about Maxwell of Abbey Road fame (and no, it’s not told in BB smileys). The first instalment should be ready for posting soon in this thread
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I’m listening to “Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp” right now. Do you think the fact that Joan and Molly (who are sweeping the stair in the song) are both names in Beatles’ songs is a coincidence?

The UK gets a (partial) solar eclipse tomorrow morning. I think it’s about 85% in London (where I am). % going up as you move up the country. Doesn’t look like there’s much chance of seeing it in London though. Too much cloud cover is expected.paul-mccartneypaul-mccartneypaul-mccartneyWe’re also suffering from a pollution smog blown across from France this week as well!blue-meanieblue-meanieblue-meanie

So, Friday night – what does everyone have planned for the weekend? Anything exciting in the works?

Some gardening for me, plus more tennis if the weather holds up tomorrow (and if the lad wakes up in time, he has some friends over for the night so I don’t expect much sleep tonight).

Being a sports junkie, I am in heaven now that the NCAA Basketball Tournament is in full swing. There are games on all night tonight and all weekend.

I don’t have much to do with tennis. I had to go to a funeral of an acquaintance who died after being hit in the head withn a tennis ball. It was a lovely service.a-hard-days-night-george-10

I have my orals in three weeks time so I’m working on them, I did a mock oral in Irish earlier today the teacher said she’d “give me a high A”-woohoo. I have another mock Irish oral next week, I’m talking with my Austrian friend on Skype for German, I have a mock French oral next week with my school’s teacher (I do French outside of school) and another French oral with my real French teacher.

Drinking game: Take a shot every time I typed “Irish”, “German” or “French” in the above sentence.

Disclaimer: ASJ will not pay for your stomach to be pumped.

I also have a business test on the EU on Monday and I have my geography project (worth 20% of my total grade) to do.

In summary: I’ll be bloody studying, God bless the Leaving Cert!

Volunteering with the arts program tomorrow morning and lunch with my former classmates on Sunday. Other than that, homework. I’m taking a career development class, so I have to post a draft of a cover letter. This is actually more difficult to me than writing a resume.

That drinking game was too good. I had trouble reading the six sentences you wrote after that.

Definitely didn’t look nor feel like the first day of spring yesterday. It was cold and it was raining. Today it was really nice, it was sunny, but that was very deceiving as it was still very cold.

My mom will turn 50 the first of april, anyone got any suggestions on what to do?

Had the first day below freezing in about 10 days here.  :/

When my dad turned 50 back in the ’90s, I bought him a 6-pack (12-pack? can’t remember) of this popular Canadian beverage:

I know what you mean. Friday was the first partial day of Spring for us (@ 6:45PM) and we got 5 inches of snow. Today, thanks to a beautiful warm sunny weekend, the snow is once again all gone.

As for your mom’s 50th – if she like parties, surround her with her closest friends. If something more intimate is to her liking, take her out to her favorite restaurant. Either way, making sure she knows what an impact she’s made on the lives of others to this point should be the theme of any gathering. Hope that helps.

I know Joe can take care of himself, but I can’t shake the feeling that if I ever got near june42, we might end up in a cat fight.

june42 is the poor misguided soul that accused Joe of being, among other things, misogynistic after reading his review of Olivia’s book about George.
