We have Siesta time, then a graveyard shift. In the latter it is usually just I, @ewe2 and lately @HongKongLady minding the place.
Don’t forget Necko. Necko’s often there, as well.
Yes, sorry about that – @Necko is also on at our crazy hours more often than not. We have had some crazy duets in the bakery together.

No, please, no. A “how fast can I make it to the rooftop” mentality is what led to the closing of the Milestones thread. We want people to keep making excellent, quality posts like they have been doing (congrats to all our newer members on the solid, enjoyable posts), and reach the rooftop the proper way.
While I value valuable contributions, and appreciate the quality of quality posts, let’s not forget that many of us also spend time in the games sub-forums where our contributions, entertaining though they may be for the participants, are probably not that solid or enjoyable for those who don’t partake.
Having said that, I certainly agree with the general tenor of the ‘stop and smell the roses’ approach.
See what I did there?
What do you mean only the 3 Ringo fans here will get it? I’m sure at least 2 and 1/2 other folks here might!!

Why would people even do that? I don’t understand that. What is their state of mind? ”If I have a 1000 posts I’m better than someonne who has 300 posts”?

As for racing to the rooftop, I won’t try to delve into their psyches to try to figure it out. I can’t figure out why I do half the stuff I do.

Cause people are competitive. If their is a mountain some one will climb it no matter how high or dangerous it is. A similar thing can apply here (except it is less dangerous I hope).

So, the “Thank”
I know we have had some discussion about the use of that button. Personally I use it for all sorts of things:
- Like the like on Facebook
- To express appreciation for a great post or a question answered
- To agree with what someone has said without adding another needless post
- To thank someone
I rely on the person noting the ‘thank’ to understand what it means in context, which is probably expecting a bit too much in some cases. Still, overall I kind of ‘thank’ it.

5. To show appreciation for a post that wasnt helpful in any way aside but was incredibly silly, irreverant and therefore funny (this may be different in meaning to “great” as others might think it was just a pointless waste of space type of post so is expressed here for clarity).

A guy goes into a bar, orders four shots of the most expensive 30-year-old single-malt Scotch and downs them one after the other. The barkeep says, “You look like you’re in a hurry.”
The guy says, “You would be too if you had what I have”.
The bartender says, “What have you got?”
The guy says…
“Fifty cents.”

That almost adds up to the 5 fans Ringo said bought Ringo 2012 when he introduced Wings at his concert!
