Are you kidding me?! Sir James McCartney, an introvert?! You must be talking about Paul McCartney. (*wink wink*)
Seriously though, I would never have guessed.
I took mine a while back, as part of a class I was doing. It said I was INFP– “The Dreamer”.
Same as John!
Unofficially, there are types colloquially known as “extroverted introverts” – people who are socially outgoing, but need space to retreat and be in their heads and dream for a while. I can see Paul fitting that profile.

…and COME ON, no way in hell was John a “diplomat” within the Beatles! Unless that just means he was the main spokesperson.
Yes, I think that’s more it. Silly Girl got the same type from a different test, but it called her The Dreamer, which sounds about right.
I imagine that once you know your type, it might be helpful to read a few sites for different interpretations.

I suppose. But I’ve heard John was like that, whereas I’ve always felt Paul was extroverted through and through. Of course, I’m one to talk, seeing as I know him personally… *wink wink*

But remember, Paul’s known for being very private, and he had the Scottish farm that became his retreat with his family. I have a close friend who is an extroverted introvert and also a Gemini like Paul, and she’s often mistaken for an extrovert. And that can be draining on her due to people’s expectations of her.
This is all so fascinating to me.

The results can also depend on whether you are applying them to your work or social situation. I am in introvert socially but an extrovert professionally (almost off the scale for the latter). When I decided to become a teacher I forced myself to do some drama classes so I could get more comfortable ‘performing’ in front of a group of people.
Some of that sort of dynamic may be in play for John and Paul.

I got INTP on that test and I think that pretty much describes me except for when it says that I am more likely to be insensitive. I hope I am not insensitive.
Other INTPs:
Socrates (How did they get this data?!)
Rene Descartes (Or this one?)
Blaise Pascal
Isaac Newton
Carl Jung
Albert Einstein
James Madison (and this one?)
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Gerald Ford

On the personality test:
I am EXECUTIVE (ESTJ-T)
ESTJs are representatives of tradition and order, utilizing their understanding of what is right, wrong and socially acceptable to bring families and communities together. Embracing the values of honesty, dedication and dignity, people with the ESTJ personality type are valued for their clear advice and guidance, and they happily lead the way on difficult paths. Taking pride in bringing people together, ESTJs often take on roles as community organizers, working hard to bring everyone together in celebration of cherished local events, or in defense of the traditional values that hold families and communities together.
ANYONE WORTH THEIR SALT STICKS UP FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IS RIGHT…
ESTJ personalityDemand for such leadership is high in democratic societies, and forming no less than 11% of the population, it’s no wonder that many of America’s presidents have been ESTJs. Strong believers in the rule of law and authority that must be earned, ESTJ personalities lead by example, demonstrating dedication and purposeful honesty, and an utter rejection of laziness and cheating, especially in work. If anyone declares hard, manual work to be an excellent way to build character, it is ESTJs.
ESTJs are aware of their surroundings and live in a world of clear, verifiable facts – the surety of their knowledge means that even against heavy resistance, they stick to their principles and push an unclouded vision of what is and is not acceptable. Their opinions aren’t just empty talk either, as ESTJs are more than willing to dive into the most challenging projects, improving action plans and sorting details along the way, making even the most complicated tasks seem easy and approachable.
However, ESTJs don’t work alone, and they expect their reliability and work ethic to be reciprocated – people with this personality type meet their promises, and if partners or subordinates jeopardize them through incompetence or laziness, or worse still, dishonesty, they do not hesitate to show their wrath. This can earn them a reputation for inflexibility, a trait shared by all Sentinels (SJ), but it’s not because ESTJs are arbitrarily stubborn, but because they truly believe that these values are what make society work.
ESTJs are classic images of the model citizen: they help their neighbors, uphold the law, and try to make sure that everyone participates in the communities and organizations they hold so dear.
I’ve taken the M-B test many times in years past. This is the first time I have ever been E and not I. I think the forum has changed me — or made me embrace parts of my character that I hadn’t before.

@Ahhh Girl In terms of the forum this makes a lot of sense:

Community Organizer = Mod
Bring Everyone Together = AG Coming Together with any Forumpudlian she can.
Sounds like you AG! Are you the first confirmed extrovert?

Here’s a more negative look at your Myers-Briggs personalities
It says this about Paul and I:
ISFP
Hipsters. Need I say more? ISFPs feel that doing things “ironically” is the coolest thing ever. Their totem animal is the owl, not because they’re wise, but because hipsters have a thing for owls. They think that they’re, like, the coolest s**t ever. Stupid hipsters.
Some ISFPs transcend their hispterness and instead work fiercely on trying to come up with less obnoxious things for the subculture to do. This does not redeem them.
I don’t see that, but these descriptions are funny.

That’s very interesting. I was wondering if personality types can change over the years.

Haha, they are. For INFJ:
The INFJ animal is a badger. Badgers are dumb.
No, no, no, badgers are badass. Let this guy tell you about it.
