They say presidents change a lot during their period in office, take Obama for example:
In 2008
vs 2015
But I believe Michael D. Higgins has undergone the biggest change, I mean look at the substantial changes that have undergone since his appointment:
T’is shocking!

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

My band is gearing up for our very first show ever next Saturday, I’ll try to get some video up on YouTube for you guys! We’re playing for 30 minutes, our setlist is:
Is this new or did I miss something? Cool either way!!
New! Formed about a month ago.
I didn’t know you were in a band and I’m following you on Twitter! So what are you guys called? Looking forward to seeing your set when it ends up on Youtube or somewhere.
And yes! New Muse album indeed! Looking forward to that. This appears to be a better year for music than last year. Noel Gallagher’s album just leaked and it’s amazing, Florence and the Machine got an album out in June and I loved her first two albums, The Prodigy will soon release theirs, Tame Impala will release something, and a lot of others will release something too. Also huge artists like Madonna and Christina Aquilera, if that’s what you’re into.
we’re called Histrionic. It technically means over the top and melodramatic, but we just think it sounds cool.
Muse shot a video yesterday, hopefully we’ll have its corresponding single soon!

Just picked up the Clapton autobigraphy on Saturday. I’m only 49 pages into it and…wow.
That is lying on my sitting room floor waiting to be read (sorry Mr. Kite), I’m currently reading a biography on Sophie Scholl and it’s a bit heavy/fact-laden at the moment but nevertheless enjoyable.

It says I shouldn’t be in prog rock this is the blurb (Under spoilers)
You don’t belong in prog rock, maybe the British invasion is more suitable for you, or perhaps the later years of Genesis. Your lyrics tend to be about simpler matters. Less complicated chord changes, less solos and more simplicity is perfect for you.

Genesis. Guess I should learn who they are. For those who know them, are they a good fit for me?

You might be familiar with Phil Collins and 80s Genesis music (“Mama,” “That’s All,” “Taking It All Too Hard,” “Invisible Touch,” “Land of Confusion” to name a few). It’s not considered their prog rock era, but you might like their music.
Peter Gabriel was originally a member of the band, and that was definitely during their prog rock era. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway from that period is generally considered one of the top prog rock albums of all time (I was fortunate enough to see a live performance of the entire album by another prog rock band a few years ago and that remains one of my favorite concert memories).
Also, Mike and the Mechanics (“Silent Running,” “All I Need Is a Miracle”) was a side project of member Mike Rutherford.

Some ‘Genesis’ tracks i really like but it would be the more commercial material like ‘That’s All’, ‘Jesus He Knows Me’, No Son Of Mine’, Tell Me Why ‘ and the ones Parlance mentioned. Abacab is dreadful and i cannot stand what they did with Peter Gabriel.
I got ‘Yes’.
One of the more influential prog. rock bands, and a very technical one making it perfect for you, you should be in Yes.
Something went wrong as I have zero knowledge of ‘Yes’ having listened to nothing or theirs or sought them out. I’m also not a fan of prog rock.

I’m not familiar with most of their music but I really loved these two singles from the 80s:

I’ve heard ‘Owner Of A Lonely Heart’ tho i cant say i like the song nor do i dislike it.
On a far more depressing note i found out that one of my Uncle’s (he was never actually my Uncle, he was whatever your Dad’s Mums brother is called – Great Uncle? – but thats what we called him) died last Friday after a period of illness. Never truly close to him but always someone who was great to be around, whenever we were in his part of the world we made every effort to meet up and he traveled all the way up for my sister’s wedding 18 months or so back. He decided years back that he wouldnt sit around getting old and instead never stayed in the same place for more than 5 minutes unless he had a pint in his hand and someone buying them when you couldnt get rid of him until closing time. Very independent and upfront. I really liked him. Thankfully he didnt suffer too much and he would have hated being restricted to one location and not being able to get about on his own.
I never know what to say in these moments.
I think
“Balls!!!“
sums it up.
Gone but never forgotten.
