i hate talking on the phone or thru texts (the latter as conversations which should be 1 or two messages normally go on for ages). Truth be old i’m a very quiet person who doesnt have a lot to say and often doesnt even want to say what i do have. I fail to see the need for the sake of filling the air with noise and so often have nothing to talk about; must make me exciting to be around.I do like email as i can ensure what i type is what i want to say.
You’re just like me. Let’s agree to never meet!
Done and if it ever comes close i promise to run in the opposite direction. I also agree to never phone you.
May I suggest, dear @Joe and dear @meanmistermustard, that we create something similar to the “Diogenes Club”, as depicted by Arthur Conan Doyle? I’d like to join, if you allow me to, and probably some other forum members would join it too:
“There are many men in London, you know, who, some from shyness, some from misanthropy, have no wish for the company of their fellows. Yet they are not averse to comfortable chairs and the latest periodicals. It is for the convenience of these that the Diogenes Club was started, and it now contains the most unsociable and unclubable men in town. No member is permitted to take the least notice of any other one. Save in the Stranger’s Room, no talking is, under any circumstances, allowed, and three offences, if brought to the notice of the committee, render the talker liable to expulsion. My brother was one of the founders, and I have myself found it a very soothing atmosphere.” – Sherlock Holmes in The Greek Interpreter

Another question, for everyone this time.
I have been helping clear and pack as my ‘soon-to-be-ex’ (STBE from now on) finally starts moving out (for the 3rd time – don’t ask) as we are splitting the furniture. Now, I know she is a bit of a hoarder – but does anyone else here keep chocolate biscuits, packets of noodles and bottles of soft drink in their lingerie / socks and undies draw/drawer? (assuming you have one)
What other odd things (keep it legal please) do folks keep in there? I’m boring – just socks and undies for me.

Your STBE isn’t the only one. I keep expensive chocolate and tea bags in my lingerie drawer. I’m tight and greedy, so I can’t let anyone else see them otherwise they’d be gone.
Luckily, I’m the only one who goes anywhere near that particular drawer. Anything you don’t want people to find, stick it in there.

I mentioned in another thread that I’m taking an online class for winter. I wanted to retake Photoshop from the graphic design department (as opposed to the photography department) because I often have trouble thinking graphically, and I’m hoping this class will help me improve.
So far I’ve turned in 2 assignments (each one has to have two variations). They’re not masterpieces, as it’s only a six week course. But I’m having fun so far, especially with the movie posters:

Nice work that. One of my daughters has just finished an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design. She is now celebrating with a trip to Asia, I think she is in China at the moment and will be in Bangkok in a few days. So, lots of Photoshopping gets run by me – I like what you have done there.

I can’t see the detailing on the pictures cause they are too small and when I click on them it says 404 not found. But what I can see looks good.

Thanks. That’s odd, Flickr says they’re shareable. I just edited the original post with actual uploads. Thanks for letting me know.

A lot of people are on right now, hello everyone!
In other good news: I’m now taller than 1/2 of the people in my circle of acquaintances.
Everything is coming up ASJ!

Congrats ASJ!
And a lot of us have long usernames, haha. But yes, it’s after a long time that I’ve noticed so many online.

Yes, I noticed the crowd – great to see. Much better than when I run the ‘graveyard shift’ and talk to myself too much!

Oh yes, the tea bags (or leaves) are even more important than the chocolate. A lot of tea is drunk in this house. I can’t risk my nice stuff being used by people who won’t appreciate how much of my hard earned money I spent on it, so it stays in my drawer and I enjoy a mug when I’m alone. People who work with my mom often come to the house too, and they help themselves to whatever they like, even if it’s obviously mine because it has words like ‘organic’, ‘moo free’ or ‘super-expensive-but-also-sort-of-healthy’ on it. So, again, it’s better to keep some things safe.
I also know people (-18) who keep bottles of vodka in their underwear drawers. Parents don’t find out, bottle can’t break/make noise due to the ‘cushioning’ – win win.
