Offline The way some people reacted to my post about the awards was a bit lame and uhh..not very funny. I mean, I have an opinion, do you think that could be possible? Yeah? And I’m really not bothered about not winning anything. If anyone thought that was the point of my post, well, I’m sorry, but then you either didn’t read it or didn’t think. I don’t care if someone on a forum thinks I have the most wonderfully glittery girly avatar or not, I don’t need that. As long as people will reply and like my comments and messages, I’m fine.

Offline I sent a PM to Linde apologizing for my misguided attempt to lift her from her self-described “mood” with my lame humor. It’s easy to see how such banter can be misunderstood, especially when filtered through age, language and nationality differences. I hope Linde is OK with it and accepts my apology. Now I see why I wasn’t in the running for “funniest post.”

I won’t speak for anyone else, but I read your comments here and here and here very clearly, and they were more than a little snarky. You claim you don’t care, but you explicitly dismissed the awards as a “popularity contest.” Furthermore, you nastily dismissed some nominees because you hadn’t heard of them before, then you complained that the same people were going to win – which is it? And all this came after you’d originally volunteered to help with the awards and even posted twice (however jokingly) that you should get one.
I was willing to write it off as a bad week, but if you’re going to keep pushing the issue after some very compassionate and thoughtful responses from both members and moderators, then I’m going to be straight with you. Georgiewood feels the need to apologize, but I didn’t see anyone trying to make light of your feelings. You, however, cast a pall on the celebration and made me feel like I was participating in a thankless task. And that’s not cool at all. People were trying to bring it back to the celebratory spirit, and there’s nothing wrong or “lame” about that.

Offline Lets not have an argument/disagreement/fallout or whatever folk want to call it over this. Maybe something got lost in the meaning of some folks posts, maybe not but its not worth it. The awards are to be fun and it would be sad if that fun was lost and folk were put out.

And if people just don’t want to understand my posts or want to try to make them look worse, or twist the intention around, then go ahead. If that makes you feel good.

Offline For my art class, we had to find a photo of a famous person of some sort, which we would use as a reference for a hard-edge painting. I chose the photo of John Lennon that was included with the White Album . I finished the painting today. Let me know what you think of it:
