No, I didn’t win no stinkin’ award!  Ahem, not that it bothers me in the least. Especially since my plan to go AWOL with @Linde and become a big wheel at the Rolling Stones Bible site was crushed because: a) Linde doesn’t seem interested, and b) there doesn’t seem to be a Rolling Stones Bible site. So …. I’m just happy to be here.

You our can see the moon from my house. Lowest tide in memory today.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Don’t give up hope! You can make a stand and make a Rolling stones Beatles Bible site then you will rule the forum!

Maybe @Linde and yourself @georgiewood could start a Rolling Stones Bible site. Shouldn’t take too much time to do so and i bet it would be popular. Go on, be proactive.

Well, no thanks; but I’m sure that Joe is ready to move on to a new challenge. ahdn_paul_01

ahdn_paul_06 But then if Joe makes it then you aren’t really getting away from the rest of the forum which was one of the reasons you and Linde wanted to go to the Rolling Stones Bible site.

The neighbor’s dog (named Remy – short for Remington) hopped up into my car when I was trying to get my dog in the car. I told my dog not to worry about this other dog taking his place. I said that Remy didn’t have a Ticket To Ride .

ahdn_paul_06 I had a neighbors cat do that once. I was reading a post in this thread where you talk about one of your neighbors building a fence to keep your other neighbors dog out. Is that the same dog?

Nope, different dog. I know the names of more dogs in my neighborhood than I do people. Pretty sad, eh?

I tend to be a behind-the-scenes person, but I would visit the Rolling Stones Bible. However, my loyalty will always be here at the BB. a-hard-days-night-ringo-15

I know that this is all tongue-in-cheek banter after the awards results were posted. At the same time, I just want to make sure no one feels slighted for not having been “recognized” with an award. That thread was created in the spirit of fun, not a popularity contest. One of the coolest benefits of this site for me is being able to correspond with like minded folk from all over the world. Thanks to all for being here!

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8To back-up Zig’s comment, some folk here are very keen to ensure there aren’t popularity contests on here as they can lead to hurt feelings and such. If i felt the ‘End of Year Awards’ was getting like that i would speak up against it as i am really adamant that the forum does not go down that route. It should always be treated as a bit of fun and thankfully it is.

The forum only works and is so much fun because there are so many people on here who add so much to it be it thru posting 487 times a day or twice a week so please never feel you are not a valued contributor.

I think sometimes a forum event is a good thing and the End Of the Year awards seem to be the only forum event.

I am **so** enjoying looking at my Beatles calendar as I sit here working on getting the textbooks ready for the Spring semester. Those four handsome faces just make the day go so much better.

Sad story of a dog being left at Ayr Railway Station with its belongings in a suitcase. I dont know how you could abandon a pet. Hopefully he will find an owner who deserves such an adorable dog.

Feeling slighted for not having been recognized with an award? Gawd, I’m happy I still haven’t been kicked out!

That is such a cool site @Starr Shine?. I discovered the yoctometre which is ridiculously tiny (“equal to 10?24 (yocto) of a metre. A yoctometre is equivalent to 1/100,000 the diameter of a proton or neutron” source: wiki) and that your average American house has a bad room.
