AG (silver) is the most conductive element on the Periodic Table of the Elements.

So in theory silver contacts on stereo systems would be better than gold ones as long as they were polished to keep the tarnish off?

Pure silver would be, yes, although it rusts when exposed to oxygen in a way Gold doesn’t.

Here in The States (as well as other countries), yesterday was the shortest day of the year in terms of daylight hours/minutes. Today, we are going to have 1 more minute of daylight than yesterday. Woo-hoo! Think Spring!!!

That’s right—silver contacts would work better than gold ones. In fact, silver is the metal with which the conductivity of all other metals is measured. Even copper would work better than gold for conducting electricity. Also, I don’t believe tarnishing would affect silver’s conductivity, and I don’t think silver reacts with oxygen, @mr. Sun king coming together.

One last thing, I wrote earlier, “The alkali earth metals, for instance, react explosively with water…” The alkali earth metals do not exist; what I meant to type was alkali metals.

No science has taken over the thread! My one hate in school was having to learn definitions word-by-word (I can’t do rote learning, I have to come up to my own conclusions on a matter e.g. I completely disagree with Emily Dickinson’s ‘There’s a Certain Slant of Light’ no matter what my English teacher says). Thankfully I don’t do any science subjects anymore :)

I deleted my old Facebook page as I was fed up of being “friends” with 170 people when I only talked to about 20 of them (at the very most) on a regular basis, so I now have a new one that I can like whatever I like and post whatever the hell I like without the fear of pricks making snide remarks. I keep on getting friend requests from the people who I originally deleted my FB page for, just feck off I don’t want to be your online friend!

Now I’m off to like about 50 George Harrison fan pages and nobody can say anything about it mwahahahaha!

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

@Zig and others using the html editor, to @ someone with a multi-word name, put a hyphen between the words to make the @ work.

Mom thought she had bought yams for our Christmas meal. She can’t find them. So off to the store we go.

Hey.  I thought that I’d point this out, because it’s interesting Beatles spotting.

Consequence Of Sound did a ranking of the James Bond themes and “Live And Let Die ” by Paul & Wings was put in the second-best spot.
