I have been meaning to listen to some Green Day songs. I am on Christmas break now and have more time to get aound to it. What songs should I start with?
I went to see the original Broadway production of American Idiot. Act II in particular was brilliant, so perhaps start with that soundtrack? It won’t be the band itself performing, but at least it’ll give you a taste.

Basically, I realise that some of yo who don’t know me as well may think I’m a dour, cynical, sometimes abrasive person. I’m not. I’m just a devil’s advocate.
While I think constructive debate is healthy, I think the problem is that being a devil’s advocate comes off as arguing just for that sake of arguing, ie abrasive.

(21st Century I mean, with American Idiot)See, Ringo already was the huge thing whenever the Beatles themselves got in. He’s simply not deserving enough to be the main attraction.
I don’t understand this statement. Why would his fame have an effect on his worthiness?
Or maybe this should be continued in the actual Ringo hall of fame thread?

Hey @Rita Eleanor , I was just today thinking about how you haven’t been online since quite a few days. Or maybe it’s because of the time difference that I haven’t seen you online.
I’m really not much online, just my exams have a week, and I’m just now resting. I’ll see if I appear more, ok?
Thank you for caring !!
Happy Christmas and New Year!

If you built the periodic table of elements out of the elements that comprise it, you and everyone in the area would die

Wouldn’t that depend on the amount of each element included? And how they were displayed/housed?
If not, I’ve seen examples of the world’s most dangerous elements in the same building and somehow survived!

This scenario is all of the elements stacked as they are on the periodic table. There is a visible amount of the element.

We even have certain things in out bodies that would cause negative reactions/explode if they ever met (I’ll find a source.). Obviously we don’t work in ways to create those reactions, but it’s quite interesting to think about.

Your hypothesis only works for unprotected samples. I’ve been to the Science Museum in London and walked out alive!
WooHoo! SuperNasty!
Sorry, but your theory only stands up if you made the periodic table without any concern for public safety. If you check, reasonably complete sets of the elements are available for sale to anyone, and museums have the know-how to display the whole lot.

Should that be “our bodies”?

This scenario is unprotected and you have the raw element and plop it on to the other elements in the same order as the periodic table.
The person making it doe not care for safety of others. The elements are touching each other

How could you have a visible amount of Hydrogen or Helium—or any other colorless gas? Or what about the elements that are not stable and would decay long before one could amass a visible quantity?

That’s correct, @Mr. Kite. The alkali earth metals, for instance, react explosively with water (especially Cesium, see video in spoiler), and halogens like Florine and Chlorine are very reactive as well.

Made me laugh, but then I AM biased
I tried Ringo’s solo stuff and I can’t even tolerate it.
And I feel the same about Green Day – so there we go.

So in theory silver contacts on stereo systems would be better than gold ones as long as they were polished to keep the tarnish off?

Maybe @AbbeyRoadRage will have an answer. I tripped across a random sentence while looking for something else on the internet. The only thing I remember about chemistry from my one class on it in high school is that the room was so cold. The only seats in there were metal barstools = frozen bums when that class let out each day.
