4444, captured for posterity like Zig’s.

And I believe it can be called a riff, it appears throughout the song. The other terms would work too though.

‘Let Me In Your Heart Again’ taken from the upcoming release ‘Queen Forever‘ and originally recorded in the 80’s, with i think a bit of new touching up added by May. Personally i can understand why it shelved as it sounds and feels like your bog-standard Queen track whilst Freddie is holding back his vocal, which is understandable as it wasn’t to be released.

Also on the album is a duet with Michael Jackson which sounds like its two different versions of a song stuck together with sticky-tape.

I tap on “add file” and it does nothing. Didn’t you get one to upload the other day?

I downloaded Chrome on my Android and tried again. It still won’t let me past add files. Perhaps my phone is just too old.

Can i classify intro of Ticket To Ride as a riff or it’s called a hook/lick ?

It’s a riff and, depending on individual taste, it might also be the hook for some.  It depends.  What is it about a particular song that makes it memorable?  Was it a particular lyric or the chorus, was it the repeated instrument phrase that runs throughout the song?  Was it how the song was sung?  That’s the hook.  It’s the part of the song that brings the listener back or makes the song memorable.  Riffs can be the hook as easily as a lyric or a chorus.  “That guitar riff is the hook in that song.”

A lick is a lead line, but it can be a hook as well.

Jimmy Page’s lead break (licks) after the bridge in Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love” is the hook in that song… for me.

Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” has more hooks than a Bangkok sidewalk.

I was able to upload images from a phone (iPhone) for maybe the first few days that was an option, then never again after that. Never got used to the luxury, so didn’t know it wasn’t a problem everyone had.
I just use links now to insert images, and use imgur if they’re pictures from my phone.

I’m reading Stewart Copeland’s autobiography (The Police drummer) and came across the word ‘paradiddle.’ Glad I know what it means now!

Edit: just came up again in a much more interesting sentence:
“My London tutor, the venerable Max Abrams, has never shown me his paradiddles.”

Anybody else dislike people who think bands/musicians which makes a loud sound are better than those who makes a light sound.

A song called ‘Ringo’ from 1964 not about our Ringo. From wiki “By October 1964, Ringo Starr ‘s popularity in the Beatles prompted “Ringo” to be released as a single, even though it was never about him.“. How many fans of Ringo bought this (it reached #1 in the Billboard Hot 100) and were desperately disappointed?

I just got a YouTube message off someone called Emily Naomi who called me ‘Alex’ and told me to check this link to see what ‘the hot girl’ they met at the party looked like and they kindly posted a link using a URL shortener.

Seems legit!

It’s totally legit.

That reminds me of when I received a YouTube message from some musician who described himself as “a singer from Brooklyn, NY who sounds like Billy Joel.” Then he went on to ask for donations to his PayPal account.

@AppleScruffJunior, so was the girl hot then? Presumably you clicked the link since it seemed genuine.

As it is this day, it seems appropriate to post this… (Listen to the last line…)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?…..EWbwq36-98

Here in the UK tonight we are celebrating the foiling of a Catholic terrorist attack in 1605 which attempted to wipe out a Protestant monarchy and the ruling class of the United Kingdom by blowing up Parliament.

Fecking fireworks going off everywhere makes for a noisy night!

I sent in my application to get my passport renewed. Is “brown and gray” a real hair color? I didn’t know what else to write in that blank. I wanted to be truthful.

Eh, who cares?!?! I’m going to London, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Glasgow!!!!! Whatever my hair color is!
