I went to my ophthalmologist today to get my eyesassaultedtested. I’m now -1.75 instead of -1.5 (sad days). I had to get new glasses and yer wan who was trying to sell me them kept on trying to give me Buddy Holly glasses, despise the fact I have a round face which doesn’t go with square glasses! Also she gave me ‘Yoko Onoey’ glasses which were mank and are not practical at all- I have to be able to see through the glasses not have them clinging desperately off the end of my glasses. John’s ones aren’t “in” according to her- I couldn’t find a pair though they wouldn’t suit me anyways (see above). Now I have a pair of funky orange/purple (they sound disgusting but suit me) instead of my lovely blue onesAh well…
I also got eye-drops that dilated my pupils so I couldn’t see words or anything properly- my irises were like I was tripping balls! I looked like this for about 4 hours and I still look “off”.
That looks scary.

Offline I was lucky, I got my glasses from Costco. And when my prescription changed, they just changed out the lenses while I wore my spare pair. So I still have my favorite black glasses with rhinestones on the side.

Offline ^ Bah humbug they forced me to get new frames, the government paid for €40 of it though ’cause it was “necessary”, (personally I don’t think I’ll be going blind anytime soon).
In other good news: I got my first car! An old Fiesta woohoo!

I also have to get new glasses as my new ones broke (they were 4 months old) and I’m using the spare ones that keep slipping off my nose.

Thanks, I woke up this morning to my mam complaining to my dad about where the hell we were going to put the car. My older brother drives a little Citroen van and I thought I’d be getting that in a year of two but I get to share the Fiesta with my other brother- it also has a sunroof, a lot of good it’ll do in Ireland!

Offline I’m currently figuring out Linus and Lucy (the really cool piano bit from Charlie Brown) on the guitar, and as soon as I do I’ll cover it, hopefully to a level that will make @meanmistermustard proud!
I learned it on piano a while back, but it’s hard to do both hands at once. It’s such a great piece.

Offline Congratulations on your first car @AppleScruffJunior. What kind of driver are you (aside from the obvious answer of ‘excellent’)?
Good luck on the practicing @Mr. Kite. To make me proud you’ll have to be exact, i’m not your standard tv talent show judge where hitting the wrong keys and falling off the stool half way thru gets comments of being the next Beethoven, Elton John, or Rachmaninoff. Which reminds me of that wonderful sketch by Morecambe and Wise with Andre Previn, if you haven’t seen it set aside 13 minutes, play the clip, sit back and enjoy.
