Teenage girl books about vampires and then burn the lot. Twilight is currently on the tv and man its s**t, sadly i cant turn over.
I have to agree MMM. Twilight is the worst piece of crap to come the face of television. Why did they have to ban stuff like 1984 and Huckleberry Finn and instead ban stuff like this?
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

They banned 1984?
And I think Twilight isn’t that bad. I find it quite funny and over the top.

I know it was banned in North Korea but what other countries is it banned?
One of the main reasons Twilight is popular is cause it is a reader insert fic where a person can fantasize about the perfect man falling in love with them.

Yip. I was wondering where you were thinking you had caged. Glad to see you still have your freedom to fly back to us – tho i thought life had become so filled your tie was going to be significantly reduced?
Twilight is light-weight pap which requires you to use no part of your brain, if anything it chips away at your intelligence as it proceeds. I’m not for banning films like these but fail to see how anyone can be caught up in a series where decent acting skills were apparently not that crucial and the dialogue is so wooden and stiff you could build a garden shed, a tree-house and a go-kart from it all.

I read the forum now, oh boy…
4000 posts typed up by good ol’ Zig.
And though the posts were rather small,
…
The BB automatically counts them all so we can tell how many he has by looking under his name (if we’re not on mobile)!
Congrats on 4000, @Zig!!!

I was very sad (shed some tears) to hear of the death of Helen Bamber OBE at the age of 89.
The name may not be familiar to most of you, but she was one of the great heroes of the 20th Century.
Born in 1925, she was a psychotherapist, who at the age of 20 found herself among the teams that went into Belsen to care for the survivors of the Nazi genocide. (“Sometimes I found it necessary to say to people who I knew were not going to live: ‘You are giving me your testimony and I will hold it for you and I will honour it and I will bear witness to what has happened to you.'”) For facing the horrors there alone she should be applauded and remembered.
She did so much more though. She became the chair of the first British Amnesty International group in 1961 – the year it was started, making her one of the founding members. She did much important work on torture. She spent her life campaigning for Human Rights.
An oft-forgotten figure now, the 20th Century would have been a poorer place without her contributions, and the 21st Century has too few like her.
I was privileged enough to meet her once about 20 years ago. She was a remarkable woman who spent a life bearing witness and doing the best that she could by those who had suffered or were still suffering.
RIP, Helen. The world has lost a giant.

I had to change my password at work today. I’m really, really going to miss the one I’ve been using. It was from @AppleScruffJunior’s rewrite of Love, Love Me Do

Ron Nasty, thanks for the information about that remarkable woman. I’m sure she will be missed by many even if there are a lot who don’t know her. What she did seems like it had an incredible impact.
@Zig Just a small thanks for the Kite parody.

@Mr. Kite, that makes them unforgetable and they add a little kick to my day.
That goes well with what I came over to this thread to say.

It’s funny how certain songs or words make one think of BBF’ers.
I wonder what words trigger toughts of me in the minds of BBers. No, maybe I’m better off not thinking about it.
It reminds me of that therapy thing where the doctor says a word and you respond with the first word that comes to mind.

Paul. In fact the other day I was watching this video about Paul and Linda’s marriage where Paul is shown to make faces at Heather and teases her (3:44). He looked adorable and I thought that you should see it if you haven’t.
