@fabfouremily I actually answered this somewhere on this board, but Beck and They Might Be Giants were two bands I used to listen to a lot and don’t listen to them at all anymore. It’s nice to know they’re still out there and all, but I don’t keep up with them anymore. Annadog nailed it in terms of tastes changing, and it’s a natural thing. They Might Be Giants are really good. Just out of curiosity, do you ever listen to the radio show This American Life? I ask because They Might Be Giants have a lot of music on it and are very involved with the show.
The station I work at carries This American Life and I know TMBG gets a lot of play on that show. Ira Glass figures prominently in their documentary film Gigantic.

Wouldn’t care as I’d leave the site and do other things. Why hang around on one page of a site for hours unable to do anything?

^ Cause you could be stuck on a pretty looking page and be entranced and be looking at the page for hours and be in awe of its beauty and then you would gaze at the page and then be shocked and when you try to look away your like it is too wonderful looking then look back for hours cause it looks fantastic

Some of you might find the guitar seen here interesting. At the concert I went to tonight, he brushed against it washboard style while playing. Seems like it could be a cool companion to its cigar box cousin.

I am looking at my trip pictures with my mom. Here are a few pictures from Venice
The Rialto Bridge from the gondala
All I could think about when I saw the entrance to the Golden Staircase at the Doge’s Palace was
“a man must break his back to earn his day of leisure”
Two items at the Hard Rock Cafe in Venice. A Spaniard in the Works and a drum signed by Paul, George, John, and Ringo.

A little bit of Robin Williams trivia: In the third season of Mork and Mindy, there was an episode called Mork Meets Robin Williams (first broadcast 19 February 1981). Instead of the episode finishing with Mork’s usual sign-off at the end of his report to Orson, “Until next week. Nanu Nanu!”, the screen fades to black after Mork talks about the downside of fame, and lists some of those who’d died. His list ends with John, and that was the whole point of the episode, to be able to mourn the loss of John.

I need to make a Powerpoint about my interests for school and I am of course going to mention The Beatles. So, I want to add one part of a Beatles song. But I have no idea which one, any suggestions?
Can you add a clip of music to the presentation or are you just thinking about a slide with lyrics?

I’m looking for a little help from my British friends. In a Brian Epstein biog, he was quoted as saying “I think that America is ready for the Beatles. When they come, they will hit this country for six.” What does “hit for six” mean and what is its origin?
Thanks, in advance.
