Not our fault Americans carn’t spell!
Oh, but we can, my dear Nasty. We spell words like color instead of colour, neighbor instead of neighbour, etc… for a good reason. After kicking your sorry redcoated butts off of our land at the end of the Revolutionary War, we made one last gesture – SCREW U!

Right century. Wrong decade and wrong war. It happened in 1814 as part of the War of 1812.

I was talking about the Webster dictionary and you were closer since the first one was 1828 cause the spelling differences with the U.S and the U.K have alot to do with Noah Webster

Geez, I just did the blondest thing ever. Might even be the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.
I was on this Holiday Auctions website, on which you can bid on er..holiday auctions, lol. Those can be complete holidays, citytrips, wellness arrangements, etc. And I saw this trip to Paris for 2 persons, for 2 days. I bid on it as a gift for my mom, didn’t realize how far it is going by bus and that you have to leave in the middle of the night and that the bus doesn’t come anywhere near to my hometown. Didn’t look at the hotel either. So my mom goes like ”I can’t sit in a bus for 9 hours with my body” and said of course it would be more expensive, which I didn’t really think about either. Such an impulsive action there, just throwing money away. Trying to sell it now. I’ve told pretty much everyone I know, but they backed off once they saw the bus left from somewhere on the other side of the country, or even at the bus part already. Hope I can sell it. Otherwise I might go myself, with either a friend or my sister.

Only read this if you want to get EXTREMELY ticked off

By Richard Gehr
Recently in The Atlantic, Joshua Wolf Shenk countered the lone-genius myth with the example of cool Paul McCartney and wild John Lennon : competitive collaborators who created better music as a pair than as individuals. But Lennon and McCartney were pussies compared to Gene and Dean Ween, who operated more like synergistic enablers, pushing one another to increasingly outrageous, surrealistically satirical extremes.

My friend, it was no more your land than ours. After you won your Revolutionary War, didn’t you (obviously not yourself) spend the next 100+ years breaking treaties with, stealing land from, and killing those (in what would today be considered genocide) whose land it ACTUALLY was, while claiming you were saving them from themselves because they were savages…
Just saying…

Yeah we maybe could have handled that better
Or at least once we had all the land we could have been bothered to take care of it, but alas,no.
How is my spelling on this post so far?

(I switched to the visual text editor just to @new member, but considering the above, I don’t see how anyone who uses it on mobile posts what they mean to! [/end rant])
And you can’t argue with that one considering we invented the things!

@Mimi Yes, but we had these guys…
who had your youth going…
Spelling great, you didn’t use one word we spell differently…
Erm… @mr-kite, if you’re referring to the automobile there, the accepted inventor (though there were others working on similar ideas – all European) was the German (as were many of the others) Karl Benz in 1879. What Ford invented, assuming it’s him you’re referring to, was the production line, so loved by workers in the decades since. The first American car was developed by the Duryea brothers in Springfield, Mass., in 1893.

I didn’t say we didn’t learn anything from you (obviously not yourself).
Great response, though. I knew it would be a great one.
