Anybody know what Paul and John are saying when they’re speaking through the tin cans in “Yellow Submarine “?
According to one lyric site
(Full speed ahead, Mr. Parker full speed ahead!
Full speed it is, Sgt
Cut the cable, Drop the cable
Aye, aye, sir, Aye, aye
Captain! Captain!)I listened to it and that sounds right, but I can’t make out the Parker part.
I’d say that sounds pretty well right, except “Aye aye, sir, aye aye” sounds more like “Acknowledged, acknowledged” to me. But you’re pretty well right. I distinctly not recognizing the tin cans when I was a kid.

When I listened to the isolated effects, I’m sure it’s aye aye.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I don’t have the isolated version.

@thisbirdhasflown, Yellow Submarine vocals and sound effects only.
@Linde, thanks for the kind words. Lets just hope you’re thinking the same a few months down the line and not leading a campaign to get me fired for being useless.
Sadly bribes are now out for the end of year votes.

I’m getting a Hofner violin bass for my birthday/Christmas!
Wow! That’s really cool! I would like to have one but I can’t find one left-handed (contrary to popular opinion). Can anybody steal one of Paul’s bass guitars and ship it to me, please?

You can get ’em for about 250 quid on eBay. I’m asking my extended family to pitch in for the bass so my main family can get me a better electric guitar, possibly customised.
I’ve got all that stuff sorted out, and honestly, I believe in myself. The only obstruction is my anxiety which is making all the little things irritating and they distract me and get in my way and it’s really, really annoying, even when I’m on tablets. But if I get through that, I believe I can do this. I honestly think I can become someone.

For months now I have been jealous of folks when they mention that when they hear then end of one song they know which song to expect next because they know the albums so well.
This morning, when I heard the end of Here, There, and Everywhere, I statred thinking “In the town where I was born…”, and sure enough, Ringo started singing to me. That makes me feel like I have graduated from Beatles pre-school into Beatles kindergarten.

I just talk too much. You’ve responded to at least 98% of the gibberish I have thrown your way. I hope my response rate is somewhere close to that.
Are all the letters of the alphabet used at least once in a Beatles song? If not, which letters are not used?

I’m pretty sure they’re all used at some point.
All My Loving , Because , Come Together , Drive My Car , Every Little Thing , For No One , Get Back , Honey Pie , If I Fell , “get back, Jojo”, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer , “got me escaping from this zoo”, “You and I have memories…”
That should about cover it!
(Assuming you don’t just mean specifically titles or lyrics.)

I don’t see a Q there, but in Maxwell there’s: Joan was quizzical.

That reminds me of one of George’s so-off-the-wall-that-it’s-all-good lyrics from “Old Brown Shoe :” “For your sweet top lip I’m in the queue”… The word queue is used a lot in the UK, but it is not that common in the US of A. (I guess what I mean to say is that I didn’t know it when I first heard it in this song.)
