Offline I went through every level of Cub Scouts except Tiger. I graduated to Boy Scouts, but I only stayed one for a year or two.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.

England most likely out too – shame – I tend to follow all of the Brit teams.
On the scout thing – I was a boy scout for a few months until I ‘accidentally’ set fire to the scout hut and got kicked out. I was a budding pyromaniac for a while there, all accidental as I am clumsy as heck. I once also set fire to the curtains at a Pizza Hut and got banned for life – probably good for my health.

Okay, I was able to watch it anyway. One of the others was streaming it on the computer with no sound and we had the radio on, which had a delay of 9 seconds. Superweird. And now we won’t have van Persie against Chile, because he got two yellow cards. I think the referee was a huge dick though. I agree on the referee – that’s the one who didn’t give a penalty when one of the defenders had two hands on Cahill’s shirt and dragged him over on one of the corners?
Yeah and when one guy pushed one of our guys down, who was unconsious and who had to be taken away on a stretcher, the guy who caused it didn’t even get a card!

Offline It sure is fun to hear and see the meltdowns in the media and on social media when England lose. Started out with little expectation, built and talked themselves up into qualifiying from the group (some even began saying that they could sneak into the semi-finals), lost the first two games (one after belittling Uruguay), and immediately are wailing to the heavens and berating everything and everyone. Its a wonderful sight and makes up for the all the guff that is spouted in the post-game build up.
Still have got a chance of qualifying tho but need Italy to win their two remaining games and then beat Costa Rica by a big enough margin to go thru on goal difference.
How do you accidentally set fire to a scout hut? And why would you try and burn down Pizza Hut (not that i like their food)

Umm – not respecting the fire?
The Pizza Hut thing was bizarre – they had those candle in a holder things in the middle of the table; I moved it to the side to make room for the pizza arriving at the table and it flared up and one of the curtains went up in flames. This was MANY years ago now.

Indeed – they should just take it on the chin. I have been happy with the way Australia have played but am honest that we just don’t have a good enough defence just now – all the rubbish about us ‘deserving better’ is just bs (do they have the very wude bs word in the UK?).
Some of the groups are so uneven though – 3 former World Cup winners in one and others with no one who has ever made it past the last 16 – I reckon we could have topped the one with Greece and Japan in it. I’m assuming they are seeded?; though the way they are set up makes me wonder.

@Mr. Kite I’m sure they believed the letter just for that “Dear Mom and Dad…” After that they just burst out laughing!
@Starr Shine? The letter did kinda remind me of “Camp Granada” too.
@trcanberra Fireproofing was crap back then. That proves to you that candles don’t “add to the ambiance”. They just set things on fire and get you banned from big pizza chains.
