I've heard that photo of Paul and Jane Asher is Photoshopped, but I'm not sure if it is or not.
I knew it was too good to be true. Joe?

Today is a day I'm really glad I prepared myself to go to the gym. That's all I want to say for now.

The Oscar ceremony was quite bland though. James Franco and Anne Hathaway are not the best hosts. I want Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin back! I was hoping Inception would win, but The King's Speech looks like it's a great movie too. But all I remember Colin Firth being in was Mama Mia! as the gay past lover.

I have a question, does anyone ever see the Oscar nominated movies? I couldn't tell you what won last year and I haven't seen any this year except Inception (if it was nominated), and I don't know what won the year before that or the year before that. I feel like the Oscars go out of their way to nominate movies which no one sees. The last one I saw was Frost/Nixon which I don't think won but was still a good movie, but I didn't think it was really that incredible.

I think it’s more of what film makers consider artistically forward-thinking or groundbreaking, rather than what the masses enjoy seeing. Kind of like how we’e like “Omg, this person only knows the Beatles’ number one hits and they call themselves a fanatic. They don’t even own any albums / can’t even name all four members / don’t even know who plays what / can’t even tell John’s voice from Paul’s (etc.) and they think they can compare their fandom to ME?!” (Yes, that sounds snobbish. But yes, I have thought that kind of thing before. Haven’t we all?)
But yeah, I think that’s how The Academy is about movies.
And since we’re semi-on that subject, how awesome would it be if created our own Beatles awards for different categories? 😀 Forget Grammies. Dude, I might go do that just for myself now … And dude, I just noticed my iPad has an Undo button. How awesome is that? Carry on.

Amen sister.
I watch the Oscar nominated movies if they look interesting enough to me. Sometimes I rent them for my sister who also loves movies. I don't go to the theater because the new trend is to dubb them to Spanish and I hate that.
And to be honest, it's been a while that I have seen a movie that leaves a big impression on me. the last one I think it was Tron Legacy and Inception. But before that? Mhhhhhhhhh The Dark Knight. And before that??? ….. no, I don't remember. The Fountain!! And that wasn't even nominated for an Oscar. I love the work of Nolan and Aronofsky, but IMHO, Nowadays it's hard to find a good movie that leaves an impression on you.I just watch the Oscars for fun.
But the ones I definetly watch because they were nominated (or won) it's the ones for Best Foreign Film. I have seen some gems in there. the last one? Life of Others. It blew me away.

You *do* belong here! 🙂 We had some awards ceremony for the board not too long ago that Mr. Sun King ran. It was a lot of fun, and I think he's thinking of doing it again later.
