Yes! Go see Inception! I didn't find it confusing, really. But it was a very cool movie.
Does anyone else here like Violent Femmes? I'm having a high school flashback listening to their first album.

I am so happy! My awesome friend and fellow Beatlemaniac just made a really good picture with our faces on the With the Beatles cover! I freaked out! It was really good 🙂

we need pics.
And yes, Inception is quite good. I'm not sure if it will pass the test of time, but so far so good

Stupid Dictatorship does, dictatorship doesn't have to though. IMO it has more potential than democracy.
The only bad thing about demacracy is stupid, uninformed people can vote.
I always wondered what it'd be like if Americans HAD to vote like they have to in Australia. I think it's a sad day when 55% of all eligible voters voting is considered a good turnout.

We also have politician introducing policies and shouting each other down just to gain popularity rather than doing the right thing, whereas dictators don't have to care about whether 55% of the population likes it.
That might work if the dictator were Mother Teresa or someone like that. Here's how politics works, X politician is voted into office largely from how much money his campaign receives, for example Obama received over $500 million and was promptly voted in. That politician is certainly going to protect the interests of whoever gave him all that money, so that's who the politician looks out for, not the mass population. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer because the “leader” is only interested in protecting those who were most responsible for his winning the election.

I agree, GniknuS. I’m a conspiracist myself, rather than a Rep or a Dem. I believe they put into power whoever they want to put into power, and they keep him there as long as they need to. I believe a lot of other crazy things, too, but I won’t get started on a political rant.

As an outside observer, I think Gnik, that you paint a bad picture of American Politics. It’s bad, all right, but Most of Obama contributors were average Americans, and quite small. I think Obama needs to force the Republicans to back down.

Half a billion dollars is an awful lot of money, I'm not saying that some of the contributors weren't average Americans, but $500,000,000 is a lot of zeros my friend.

Yeah I feel like America sort of has a 1984 syndrome where it's like we forget after a few years who we hate. Right now it's those damn Democrats and we just need the GOP back in, but I suppose everyone's already forgot the previous eight years and how it was those damn Republicans and Barack was going to “change” everything. Yes we can!
So I suppose we hate Eurasia right now but in a few years we'll realize that we really hate Eastasia and we've always been allied with Eurasia!

I'm starting to think of The Who's “Won't Get Fooled Again,” : “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” I think the problem we're facing is American politics is becoming TOO polarized. Where the hell are all the centrists anyways?
