Is it worth it to pay for Pandora? I'm getting kind of sad with Last.fm and how they behave when I'm at work!

No, I mean for the premium membership, which has no ads, the ability to listen to it for more than 40 hours a month, I think, and better sound quality (not that I'm that much of an audiophile).
It's $36 for the year.

Really? You have to pay for Pandora now? This sucks.
No, no, no nooooooo! (might as well inject Can't Buy Me Love into this!) It's $36 for these options that make it “better” or free and not. They have this really weird thing where if you run out of the 40 free hours, all you have to do is pay 99 cents to get it unlimited for the rest of the month.
So, technically, you can still listen to it for free.

Confusing. I like it the way it is, I dont need it “better”.

Yeah, the ads on Pandora didn't bother me today. It's the ones on Last.fm that do. You can't turn down the site's volume when they are screaming for something inappropriate for an office environment.
Also, I'm not much of an audiophile, so if I hear something, that's great, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the quality of the stream as it is.

I like the iPad app for Pandora. I haven't tried out the site before.
If the ads are inappropriate, don't you just mute the computer? That's what I do whenever an ad for “No Strings Attached” comes on– I mute the iPad.
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Here's the thing, there's no way to mute the sound on the ad using the volume control on the screen and by the time I get to the computer's volume control (or the one on the monitor that shuts the sound down completely), it's pretty much too late. They come at random times and it always seems to catch me off guard. I even think the ads are run at a higher volume than the music is.

I hate it when commercials are that loud. They once scared me really badly because the song was really quiet and it literally screamed in my ear. It made my ears ring afterwards.

Hmm. It's easier with a Mac. (There's a “quieter” button, a “louder” button and a “mute” button on the keyboard.)
Maybe you could carry around a pair of headphones and plug them into the jack when the ads come on.

That would look strange though, and when would you know when it's done?
