I got my braces on the top today, they’re being annoying right now, and I popped a bracket off biting my fingernails literally before we got out the orthodontist’s door.
Then, for the THIRD straight game (only 3 games played, too), my hockey team scored the first 2 goals, then either tied or lost the game. I still don’t have any goals.
I’m fine though, I was freezing during my game, total opposite of Australia it seems.
Edit: And now I can’t find my earbuds, so I’m using my crappy ones that only have one working bud, so I have to set my audio to mono (Which is a nice feature, I will say, my old iPod couldn’t do it) and they were crappy even before one side broke. And I have a crap load of tests in school tomorrow. And I’m learning Maybe I’m Amazed and Jet on bass for a McCartney medley at my huge St. Patrick’s Day party, which is actually going pretty well. But I’m also supposed to be learning Let It Be , but it’s really hard and I lost my music for it and it’s the second time I’ve lost it. And I’ve been sick for a week. And I probably have a lot more things to complain about, to be added at a later date.
Edit: I have now found my good earbuds, so that’s good. And this is a really long post, and a double post at that. So I should stop.

Oh, my. That wasn’t my intention. Hope he accepts it cheerfully.

I’m very sad to hear of the passing of actor Roger Lloyd Pack. I first knew him through watching his dead-pan expressions in Only fools and Horses, one of the greats of British comedy tv. Very sad, indeed.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

I didn’t even know he was unwill so this is a real shock. Roger was a great actor and comedian, Trigger being of the best characters in Only Fools and Horses whilst Owen, who he played in the Vicar of Dibley, was the funniest of the lot.
Trigger’s conversation with Rodney in the clip below is one of my favourite scenes of OFAH.

I got my book on Stu off the library today, I’m halfway through Keith Badman’s book but I’m under slight time restraints with trying to get everything read at once *note to self, don’t order things in bulk*

The paper I wrote with 3 colleagues just got accepted to the American Library Association’s Technical Services Journal. Celebration!!!!
AND…my director has approved and passed on my promotion portfolio. Now, the portfolio goes to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, then the President, then the state Board of Regents. I will know the VP’s decision by February 15th, the president’s by March 15th, and the Regent’s decision by May 15th. If you can spare any positive vibes please send them in the direction of those who will be reviewing my portfolio.
I’m late reading the news, but congratulations and best of luck with the promotion process, Ahhh Girl!

Still a couple of days away apparently. We are a bit lucky here as it went down to 16 (60) overnight so we got a cooler hour or two in the morning – Adelaide only went down to a minimum of 30 (86).
The thing with the heat here of course is that we hope there are not too many bushfires and that no one gets injured / killed if there are. Ten years ago now so we are all remembering the fires that decimated parts of Canberra in 2003 – luckily no chance of that again as the place is not as overgrown as it was back then.

Glad you can still look on the positive side if only for just a moment. We had a doozy of fire during high heat and drought two summers ago. The landscape is still scared.
I hope you have some ice cream in the freezer.

^ Got lots
Hope the fire didn’t get too close to you back then. They evacuated our suburb back in ’03 and had a few of us volunteers keeping vigil overnight – all I could see was red sky everywhere and crazy heat, luckily we were spared – though a half-dozen or so houses burned down about 4 streets away.

Good. Popsicles might help too, along side the cold beer. Nutrition at its best.
The fire didn’t get close to my house. It started on the army post (who gives order to practice blowing things up during the middle of a freaking drought?!?!) and spread to the wild life refuge which doesn’t have any fire hydrants. All the volunteer fire departments around here were taking shifts and bringing in tankers of water.

Maybe you should empty the freezer and go sit in there for a while when it gets roasting.
