So, what is your favorite song on the Beatles “1” album?

Imagine .

That must be on the UK version.a-hard-days-night-george-4ahdn_george_06

Love I Like It too. Aren’t Johns vocals to die for?

Yes, they are. I know the “Shout” book is frowned upon in this forum, but I did like the line that went something like this: “The sound that could only be made by the back of John Lennon ‘s throat”

I find myself getting goosebumps randomly with various notes, words, and lyrics wafting into my ears and mind from all these Beatles songs.

Do you long-time Beatles fans still find yourself getting excited glosebumps when listening to their music?

^ I’ve always wondered if that feeling ever wears off, too. I’m not a long-time fan just yet, cbatcu, but after almost two years I can say that the music they created, and them as people, still have a very magical ”thing” about them for me. I hope that never changes.

Yep – especially when listening to the first album.

Yes, A Day In The Life and Within You, Without You are 2 examples.

Congratulations! a-hard-days-night-paul-8 I’ve got to wait till next year to do my exams, can’t say I’m looking forward to them. Last year’s Music class got a 5/10 pass rate!

"White Album - My joint-fave Beatles album along with Revolver. They show the two sides of Beatles. Revolver's very controlled - even though it's also very innovative. The White Album's playful and almost ramshackle. It's like a scrapbook kept by a genius. Fantastic stuff."

^^ That’s awesome, congrats!

Yeah, I abandoned math and science as soon as I was allowed.

Yeah I hate maths and science blue-meanie As you can tell I’m more of a languages person, but unfortunately I’ll be doing maths until I finish school (in hopefully 2 years time) as it’s compulsory along with English and Irish in Ireland a-hard-days-night-paul-11 Also the course I hope to do in Uni also does a bit of accountancy, bloody maths will stick with me ’til I’m around 22 for God ‘s sake ahdn_paul_01

I saw a young man wearing an Abbey Road t-shirt at Taco Bell during lunch today. I told him of my new “discovery” of The Beatles. He thought that was pretty cool.

Sad news! The death of a man who has played a huge part in (many of) our lives has been announced. Ray Dolby has passed at the age of 80. He was the Dolby behind so many of those audio innovations back in the analogue age that made our music and cinemas sound so much better. You may never have been a star, Ray, but you were a genius!

Hats off, and RIP!

Math sucks. I don’t use it very much, ever. The very basics is good enough. You’re ok there.

A Day In  The Life does it for me too.  As well as their music, I get goosebumps seeing smiles and shared laughter between the four of them, particularly John and Paul, for example; that look and smile they exchange during the Rooftop concert when John mucks up the words to Don’t Let Me Down .  It just tells you so much about the strength of the relationship between them even at that point when the whole Beatle thing was fracturing.

And well done AppleScruffJunior!  Must feel good to have another lot of exams over and done with!   ahdn_george_06

Cheers for all the congrats about my results :) And @mmm I was in Italy when the tickets for the disco everybody was going to went out so I had no clue anything was happening. So I stayed at home while everybody got pis*ed a-hard-days-night-george-10 One of my friends didn’t get into the disco she was that out of it, I think she passed out on the floor for 3 hours but she doesn’t really remember what happened….

Lesson learned kids don’t drink 2 naggins and 2 pints in one sitting…

Oh and it’s 103 days ’til Christmas (yay) which raises the question should I get The Beatles Anthology book or the Living In the Material World book for Christmas…
