What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us? Just a stranger on the bus…trying to make his way, home.
Any fans of Simon and Garfunkel here? I'm so obsessed right now and I just can't get The Only Living Boy In New York out of my head, and I think I saw it on some commercial out there which was surprising.

I also love Simon and Garfunkel! In fact, every time I listen to Julia it reminds me of something that Paul Simon might have written. Great stuff!

I love Simon and Garfunkel! I love “The Boxer”, “Mrs. Robinson”, and I often burst out singing “I am a Rock”. Sometimes my sister joins in…though I'm pretty sure she thinks the song is literally about being a rock.
I've embarrased myself a few times singing Cecilia in my car, I've gotten a few strange looks from people, but I can't help it, it's just too catchy! Although I'm not really embarrased, I just keep on singing. Let them keep staring!

Since this is the thread where you can post anything…
A book I am reading called “Chart Toppers: The Great Performers of Popular Music Over the Last 50 Years”, and it has SO much wrong. It states that John and Paul met in '56 (it was 6th July 1957). It also states that Ringo joined the Beatles in 1961, when it was really August 1962. It says that they were formally called the Quarry Men as opposed to the Quarrymen. And it doesn't even mention that George Harrison was a songwriter!!!! Granted, the Beatles only had a two page spread, but they could at least have put in something (no pun intended) by George.
And it wasn't just the Beatles whose information was messed up. The book says that Brian Wilson, the genius behind the Beach Boys , died of cancer in 1998. It was his brother Carl who died.
This book understandably irritates me.

I would not have put my name on that book. Wow. In other news, Charles Manson turned 76 today on 12 Nov 2010. I wonder if the prison he is in cared. Anyone know a good strumming pattern for Eleanor Rigby on the guitar?

The latter. I have a turntable which you can record your vinyls onto USB or an SD card. Anyway I found my dad’s copy of McCartney || which I was looking for.
Seemed fun to trick you
Thanks for bringing up the Bass: Paul v. George thread. It really is funny

OK, good.
That turntable thingy sounds cool!
The “Paul v. George” thread is funny, I guess… in a facepalm sort of way….
