I just thought of an algebra equation (I knew 4 years of HS math would come in handy some day!)John said there would be no Beatles without Elvis.
Elvis said there would be no rock ‘n roll without Memphis. So:
Beatles=A
Elvis=B
Memphis=C
If A=B
& B=C
then A=C
I think that means Neely deserves a comp ticket to the show.
If only time travel was possible…
I don’t think I will ever get a chance to meet my favourite musicians. Most of my favourites are dead and by the time I will be able to meet the ones that are currently alive they will probably be gone too.

That pecan pie does look good. I should go there considering I only am about 30 minutes away. I didn’t even know about this restaurant until today. Hell, I didn’t even know Gus’s or Huey’s until I moved here 3 years ago now.I am curious… do you say puh-kaun or pi-can?

That’s a big part of why Muse means so much to me.

Actually, Beatlebug’s pronunciation write-out is closer to the way I say it.

I tried to use that little upside-down e (or schwa) but the forum wouldn’t have it

I posted this on the 50th anniversary of the Beatles last concert:
I remember all the events of 50 years ago today very clearly. My uncle was an editor at the local newspaper. He was always getting lots of free stuff. 50 years and 2 days ago he called my mom and told her he had 4 comp tickets to the Beatle’s concert plus a parking pass. I cannot overstate what a life changing and grand opportunity this was to me. There really was nothing above it at the time – not even a million bucks. Not only was it free tickets, we only lived about 40 miles from Candlestick Park and had been there many times to see the Giants (baseball). Incredibly my mom said no thanks. I think to her the thought of going to a rock concert was akin to being tortured. She couldn’t even consider it on any level. She did say I could go if I could find another adult to drive and chaperone. I could not and short of running away (which I might have done if I had the tickets in hand) the Beatles went on for the last time without me.
So @Neely, all the stars were aligned and yet I missed my chance. It wouldn’t have even required any special powers, except maybe of persuasion. If you ever figure out the time travel thing, I do have a proposal. The Candlestick concert is only 10 days after the Memphis one, so you have plenty of time to make it to San Francisco. All you need to do is convince my mom to let me go and one of the tickets is yours!. Come to think of it you and I will be about the same age if you beam over soon. Maybe you can ask beatlbug to come along. She’s an adult so we’ll have a chaperone!! This would be great because it would resolve one of the biggest disappointments of my life.

today i broke down and cried during my lunch period which i spend with my band director. When I got home from marching band practice i got a text from him saying
“I want you to know I’m not giving up on you so don’t give up on yourself.”
I’ve never had anyone say anything like that to me. So that was interesting for me to hear lol.

While I appreciate all the input on my latest Baker’s Dozen about arpeggios, some of them to me aren’t quite what I had in mind as arpeggios. On one level, one could almost call anything melodic that’s not a chord as an “arpeggio”, but I was thinking more strictly. I figure this little (gigantic) niche on the forum is the perfect place for me to register my tiny misgiving.

an arpeggio is
I – III – V – I – V – III – I
at the most basic level. of course they can go up in octave more than once.
Off topic: (isn’t that the point of this thread??)
went to my grandma’s house today and she gave me these pants that remind me of george circa mad day out. No clue what shirt/top to wear them with though.
And a jean jacket
(ps these are all late bday gifts)
Also excuse my room being a disaster… I did finally get a bed skirt though!

She also got me some albums… which you can see here:
