Since this is kind of a potpourri thread, I’ll take advantage of it by noting that the latest Baker’s Dozen which I proposed is at 12, but I don’t want to horn in and win it, but I’m sorely tempted because I just came up with a doozy! I won’t reveal it until someone gets 13. (Hint: Who knew Lee was such a prude?)
1. Let It Be (Mother Mary comes to me)
2. Lovely Rita (Sitting on the sofa with a sister or two)
4. Back in Brazil (So we raise a family; The kids are happy)
5. The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill (His mommy butted in)
6. Yer Blues (Mother , father)
7. I Found Out (Don’t give me that brother, brother, brother, brother)
8. Fine Line (Come home brother)
9. She’s Leaving Home (father, wife)
10. Uncle Albert /Admiral Halsey
11. Let ‘Em In (Uncle Ernie, auntie Gin)
13. ………………….

Just so you know, @Sea Belt, I know you’re resisting, but if you did cave it would just be disallowed. The game rules state that the person who started the round is not allowed to end it.

I see the coast is clear now and Baker’s Dozen has moved on. My 13 was Back Seat of My Car (“But listen to her daddy’s song, making love is wrong”)

1. My grandmother told me when she met George in 1985 and in 1998 it was very hard to not just kiss him right then and there both times meeting him.
2. In my vocabulary packet at school it has example sentences of the words. One of the example sentences was something like “by 1964 the beatles had lots of fame for their music” so here I am supposed to be paying attention to my teacher reading out the words, but no I am drawing john paul george and ringo, writing their names in fancy fonts, drawing hearts… then my teacher calls on me and my teacher just goes “really neely let me see your paper” so then i had to show my teacher what i did. not my best moment as a student.
3. it is 3am, i really want to play guitar. my mind is going wild with musical ideas, no lyrics though. I have to be quiet because my parents are sleeping lol.

Thinking about my songwriting process. There’s more variety than what I will describe, but this is my most common experience & procedure:
1. Noodle around with chords and/or riffs, more or less randomly.
2. Some combination I’m doing catches my ear, I repeat it and try to expand on it with other chords/riffs.
3. A chord progression begins to form that sounds promising. Rinse & repeat #2 to continue fleshing it out.
4. Sometimes #3 doesn’t result in the skeleton of a complete song, but of what will turn out to be one major part (the other parts to be filled in later).
5. From the chord progression of #3, I then try to create a melody that goes along with it.
6. Once I have a good melody, I try to find words to fit it.
Recap:
1. Noodling –>
2. Chord progression –>
3. Melody –>
4. Words.

Well, now I know: If you keep the Baker’s Dozen last page open as a tab and revisit it periodically to refresh it, that will NOT show you later additions. Why it won’t is an odd mystery to me. When it was at 11. for over 24 hours, I kept revisiting it and refreshing, and it kept showing no new additions. Then I did it yet again and thought, oh well, I guess I may have to wait a day or two. I go back to the main page and browse around and lo and behold I see that not only did someone add a 12., vonbontee then added a 13. and started a new one!

I’ve been rereading the Harry Potter books (up to Goblet of Fire currently) and playing Hogwarts Legacy on PS5. I just love the undeniable British charm phenomenons like Potter, Bond and The Beatles have. The personality shines through.

The only intersection of Bond and the Beatles wasn’t terribly felicitous, but amusing nonetheless:

…and can’t forget that “Goldfinger” also starred actor Richard Vernon, who would’ve filmed his scenes shortly before or after his AHDN appearance

It shouldn’t be forgotten there was a little instrumental by Ken Thorne and His Orchestra included in Help !, and also opening the US soundtrack album, which parodies the James Bond theme with its Vic Flick-style riff,
Oh, and I seem to remember one of The Beatles wrote quite a popular Bond film song after they split.
And there’s also…
When setting up the production of the fifth James Bond film, “You Only Live Twice”, producer Albert R. Broccoli hit upon an idea – since most of the movie scenes were to be filmed in Japan, why not include a scene of James Bond attending a Beatles concert? The Beatles happened to be playing concerts in Japan from June 30 to July 2 of 1966, and Broccoli was able to make a verbal agreement with Brian Epstein to include part of the Beatles concert in the show. The scene was filmed in pre-production for “You Only Live Twice”, but Lennon’s “Christ” statement fiasco in August of ’66 had Broccoli worried. The scene was re-shot in January of ’67 to show James Bond at a Sumo wrestling match.
And now, for the first time, you can view the intended original scene.
But that, of course, was an April Fool’s Day prank from 2010.

Wow, amazing! Thanks for that RN
I haven’t seen YOLT (only seen maybe 4-5 Bonds total in my life, shamefully) but I would imagine that the Sumo bit was ultimately the better choice for the film, if only because Beatles would’ve overshadowed everything in the film, for me at least.
I was thinking about that American “Help !” soundtrack just a day or three ago, reflecting on how, amongst all the lousy things that Capitol did to their unaware American/Canadian record-purchasing public, they also incidentally enabled that same audience to hear a sitar on a Beatles record months before “Rubber Soul “, so….congratulations?
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Alright, I am reconsidering all of my life choices again…
Last night my mom talked to me and she made the point that I cannot even play a whole song in one sitting. I can, I just don’t do in front of her because every time I play guitar, flute, mandolin, piano, ukulele, or bass around her she tells me to stop. Now I am wondering why I even play music if people don’t see how much I love it. I honestly couldn’t imagine myself with any other career and if I don’t end up doing this with my life I will be worthless. Me and my family have spent thousands of dollars on instruments and then they want to bring me down and make me stop! This is the same with the rest of my family, they don’t want to hear me play and will make comments about how much I am invested into music. One I was making the point to my grandfather that I cannot bring instruments on a plane (i have a trip coming up) and he said “that’ll be good for you, you’ll get a break from music.”
Edit: wrote some pretty good lyrics about this situation. they’re a little angry though.
