@Turn Left At Greenland That would most certainly get me to watch the news lol. I just watched the new GvsK with my bud the other day actually. Twas pretty lame, especially for all that backwards Earth nonsense, however the final showdown was excellent, it’s the first time no annoying humans show up, it was pure kaiju.

Playing the Mass Effect remastered trilogy on PS4. Loving it. I’m taking the renegade, no nonsense approach with the responses to people’s questions in the game.

I just finished the legendary edition on PC. absolutely blown away by the storytelling. @Timothy i just started Garth Ennis’s Batman run: Reptilian, and I’d recommend getting in on the line or waiting for the trade paperback. But i’ve been living and breathing mass effect for the last week or so. 90 hours in 10 days, full blown renegade, custom face and class

Yip.
I’m firmly of the opinion that people are allowed to not like their music but they are wrong to deny how influential and incredible a band The Beatles were. Puts them miles ahead of anyone else. Look on Wiki at the entry for the Beatles influence on modern culture or whatever it is. It’s utterly insane.

I agree. I don’t mind if some people are not keen on their music as long as they acknowledge the fact that they changed the face of popular music or say they respect their legacy.
What they did in less than 10 years is incredible and will never be repeated.

I don’t think it can it be done again. If you look at all the times a record is broken in the charts it’s more often than not breaking what the Beatles achieved or first achieved.
Read what ‘1’ sold and done when released in 2000, it’s ridiculous for almost all albums never mind tracks recorded and released almost 30 years previously which almost everyone owned or knew. Now it’s with bonus unreleased or newly recorded songs to entice buyers or they’re off to Spotify to create the playlist. Folk might point to John’s latest greatest hits but that was dressed up with new ‘Ultimate Mixes’ to get the fans in.

I do listen to other music from time to time, but ultimately just end up binge listening to the Beatles for endless months on end. Truthfully I could just have them for the rest of my life and I’d be completely happy.

Quite an emotional little documentary about the Liverbirds band (Pamela Birch, Valerie Gell, Mary McGlory, and Sylvia Saunders):

This is a lovely story. They looked happy, especially Sylvia playing together. Touring with The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and rolling for Jimi Hendrix. Not many female bands can say that! Thank you for sharing.

Were any of our UK-based forum members customers of one of the energy firms that has gone out of business recently? Are any of you concerned about the rise in energy prices coming your way?
Another question for our UK Beatlemaniacs – are you seeing shortages of food or other materials in your local shops?
