Umm, Timothy, @50yearslate, before my advice, it read something like “2020 Beatles Bible poll” and the badge, and now it reads “2020 Most Avid John Fan” along with the badge. One says better than the other what he was recognised for in this year’s poll.

I won’t argue with that, but I really don’t think it makes that big of a difference. I mean, my sig has no mention of what my awards are for, it just says the year i won them, and there’s never been a problem there. Not that it matters– just saying.
Love one another.

And I don’t know, @50yearslate, what any of your badges are for unless I go back to the poll and cross-reference the badges in your signature. I choose not to make a mention of my awards in my signature, but if I was going to, I’d at least tell people what they were for.

maybe the north carolinian accent has aussie influences? or maybe it’s the american accent combined with occasional use of britishisms? we may never know
Australian has a little bit of a drawl and so do many American accents, particularly Southern. I think it’s more than the cadence of our speech is similar, independent from accent.

Minnesota/Wisconsin? that area?
No, Chicago. I don’t sound Canadian. It’s probably people who don’t know what Canada sounds like.
you mean most Americans?
A lot of eh’s and Minnesota sound speech.
To me Chicago sounds a bit similar, but different at the same time.

Minnesotan accents bear a resemblance to Canadian accents in my mind, but Chicago feels much more distinct.
yeah, I like watching Fargo and pretending it’s set in Canada tbh
Isn’t it filmed in AB (or possibly SK)? Is it possible that hire Canadian actors to attempt Minnesota accents?

I meant the movie (haven’t seen the series yet), but I do believe part of that series was filmed pretty close to me!

A couple of things in one bc I can’t be asked to make multiple posts today:
1. Happy new year to everyone in Forumpool! Here’s wishing all of your 2021’s to be better!
2. Happy belated 4th BBB to me! Sorry I haven’t really been on here and as enthusiastic in my posts the past year – been feeling crap the whole time but I am currently back on a Beatles binge and enjoying them again so hopefully those things should change…
3. I know this is the wrong place, but R.I.P. Gerry Marsden. Terrible news – the Pacemakers were a great Merseybeat group and Gerry had a wonderful cheery and lifting voice.

@Moon Dog asked in another thread
Is it possible to see your posts on this forum?
Good to see you back, MD. Yes, it is possible to see what topics you have posted in. If you pull up your profile (which can be done by clicking on your username highlighted in blue at the bottom of the page when logged in) among the options offered, in the bottom right-hand corner, it allows you to “List Topics You Have Posted To”.
Hope that kind of makes sense and helps.
Your name in blue, click on it, profile comes up, then click on the option to show what topics you’ve posted in.

A better method would be putting the threads you wanna look at in your watch list

That would only work for MD’s enquiry, @Starr Shine?, if they only put threads on their watch list that they had posted in, and had no watches on threads they hadn’t posted in, because the question was related to knowing if they had previously in the thread.
