I don’t want to derail the Rocky Raccoon thread, so thought to continue here @Beatlebug & @WeepingAtlasCedars. I see/hear what you mean about imagining the song through a more innocent pov. I think in that sense a lot of Beatle songs could be imagined in a more child-like way. Might have the making of a new thread here. Btw beatlebug this is Rocket. I don’t really know his backstory, but I assume he is an alien from a planet of Rocky Raccoons.
Speaking of raccoons, I had one last year that was destroying my backyard. I bought a cage to catch and relocate him. The first night I caught a opossum. The second night I caught a kitty cat. The third night I caught a skunk. The fourth night I caught Rocky and he was big as a my dog. It was midnight and raining, so I covered the cage with a towel to keep him dry until morning. When I went to move him, the cage was upside down and he was gone. It appeared he manipulated the towel until he could leverage the cage door into opening. Apparently it did freak him out because he didn’t come back.

Are you distributing the meme I hastily put together in five minutes by screenshotting a Google Doc and cropping it in Paint 3D without crediting me???
And sighbutterfly, those critters are pretty crafty!* And, on top of that, their paws are actually quite hand-like, which probably helps with escaping:
*Coincidentally, there was a crafts show I used to watch as a little one called Crazy Quilt that featured a raccoon called Jackson, and which probably helped spur my fondness for the animals. I guess they really are crafty!

Speaking of Tom Petty (which we weren’t, I know, but we were at some point recently…), there’s a YouTube commentator I subscribe to, about politics mostly, who has a little cartoon figure in the background standing on a platform that reads, “I won’t back down” (this individual happens to have good taste in music, so I’m sure it is a reference to the excellent song ).

I love how Prue, Noel, and Sandi are fashion icons on GBBO
And then there’s just Paul, who limits himself to plain shirts and jeans smh
Anyhoo continue on with your day

Paul does look great in that grey coat he has insisted on wearing for the past season though, even though Bake Off is filmed in like July. It really brings out the blue in his eyes.
Iconic reminder that Hollywood left his wife of 19 years to go out with a 24-year-old and then cheated on that 24-year-old with a 36-year-old.
Stay classy, Hollywood 😉

Smh goshdarn Hollywood
Noel, however, is iconic. He may be a tad eccentric, but he’s wonderful on the show and has a great taste in music as well as a great fashion sense.

He has some show about cars that my brother found on Netflix. And he does have very blue eyes. Otherwise I don’t know much about him except his handshakes are PRIZED.
I like Noel and Sandi much better than the other two. I never bothered to learn their names.
And I like Prue better than Mary, she seems nicer 🙂
Love one another.

Hollywood has depreciated his handshakes over the years. Now if an episode or two goes by without a handshake, I’m shocked. We used to get like one or two A SEASON tops.
A person from Buzzfeed made this graph when we were halfway through Series 9 (the upcoming Series is Series 11) so it shows how much they’ve increased. When he was made aware of it, he did cut down on them a bit more but I can’t remember how many/which people got handshakes in Series 10.
Series 8 signals the transfer to Channel 4 and the rapid increase of Hollywood Handshakes.
And, I much prefer Mel and Sue to Noel and Sandy. N&S entire shtick concerned jokes about Sandy’s height and that was pretty much it. Although she’s gone now and we have not got a lesbian replacement which makes me angry because there always has to be a lesbian host of Bake Off *shakes fist at producers*.
Matt Lucas is taking over Sandy’s slot now.

I’ve been watching them out of order, it’s hard to tell…

Tbh I don’t think any of the comedic material is really top-tier but it’s ok. And I don’t know who Matt Lucas is but that is a bit sad.

Ben Platt is singing I Want To Hold Your Hand right now. Pity he’s doing the s***e slow, emotional ATU version.

I’m trying to make a Taurus-themed playlist to celebrate the upcoming Taurus season. Anyone got any songs that relate to the Taurean vibe that they can suggest?
That’s an awesome idea. If I actually bothered to listen to playlists these days (which I don’t) I ought to have made an Aries one (and one for all my favorite signs).
Anyway, I suggest:
Waterloo Sunset, I’m Only Sleeping , Savoy Truffle , Money (That’s What I Want) (Taurus does represent wealth, after all), and any of George’s songs for Olivia since she is Taurus.

Obviously a song by Pitbull has to be there, a man who can rhyme the word ‘Kodak’ with the word ‘Kodak’ is a modern-day Shakespeare.

May (and late April) Queens (and kings) for the win, am I right?
Any of Zeppelin’s or Floyd’s more pastoral songs make me think of Taurus. Green is the Colour especially, green being Taurus’s color. Fat Old Sun also. (Or both. )
Which reminds me, also, anything by the band Taurus (whom Zeppelin did NOT steal the Stairway riff from…! )
And speaking of Shakespeare, he was also in all likelihood a Taurus…

YES! Performing immediately after his doppelganger, Stevie!
That was a great little low-key version, loved Paulie nearly tearing up talking about Mary and health workers. Great song choice.
(I agree about “Taurus”, my post was a silly joke. There’s no way that two bloody descending bars = a composition!
And “Taurus” is the most tedious track on that Spirit debut anyways. )
