I weep every night over that decision. I also never got my suggested replacement thread which was ‘Picture Yourself At The Pictures: A Film and TV Thread’ (I just came up with that title right now, pretty proud of it).
At the time we said folks could contact us if there were any specific threads they wanted unlocked and they would be considered. Each one we received was given a lot of care and attention.
In all seriousness, I don’t remember getting any but my memory is rubbish. Maybe some were posted on the form.

Well I asked for the plain Dylan thread to be reopened, considering we have a Prince thread who had feck all to do with the Beatles, you’re gonna get me all irritated again… Open Prince thread, locked Dylan thread!!!!
Should be the other way ’round.

And the Led Zeppelin thread somehow escaped the purge… I have no idea how/why but I’m not complaining.

Hello all, during the lockdown imposed on my country, I have decided to clear out some storage areas in my house, to uncover a wealth of old 90’s period CDs. Currently as we speak, I am sitting on the house floor surrounded by many CD’s of different genres from pop, classical, jazz and the like. My family no longer have any use for them, and they have decided to let me take over the possessions of these CD’s. A lot of these CD’s are out of print and not available on streaming platforms, as well as many being in mint condition. Therefore I would like to know if selling them online would be a good idea or not. Thanks for any advice given.

Aye I asked, AG, she said she’d ask Joe and then nada zilch nothing, to this day I have not forgiven AG.
I remember that! She said to hang in there and posted a picture of a furry animal hanging off a branch. You’ve been hanging in there an awfully long time.

Because I have no solid clue on what I want to do with my life after high school, every month or so I fall down a rabbit hole of exploring possible careers. Today (instead of doing my school work), I got sucked into exploring the art conservation and history career path and it looks quite interesting. Especially conservation, since it ties together art history and science. It might be a career path to consider, but knowing my undecisive self I’m going to forget about it next week and move on to something else……..
I’m so weird when it comes to deciding on a career because I’m interested in so many things and also I’m just so flippant and undecisive. I’m constantly worried about what I’m going to study or do after high school because I have no idea what it is that I want to do. There are so many options! I’m decent at math and physics so I’ve heavily considered studying engineering along with my brother, but at the same time I have a passion for art and literature and culture and music. I’m jealous of my peers who have instantly known/outright know what they’re going to do with their life once they graduate.

What’s lovely, though, is that you don’t have to know right now. You have a couple years to explore your interests and see what you’re good at and what you’re passionate about. And by not knowing what you want to do, you aren’t locking yourself onto a career path that you may later regret choosing.

My advice, as someone who’s in a similar position, is choose the career that seems the most stable and use that to fund your rich and vivid personal life of art and music. Or don’t. As mmm said, you’ve got time.

My advice:
If people are spending, be saving. If people are unfit, get fit. If people are thinking negatively, be thinking positively. Some simple things that completely change your life, and automatically makes you ahead of most of the population.

Thanks, hon! I added it to my sig because 1) I adore David Byrne and Talking Heads and 2) it felt appropriate during this time– sort of a little stab from me at all the people out there not taking coronavirus or social distancing seriously (in other words, rewiring the OG message of the song to fit modern issues )

Anyone know about affordable microphone options for a laptop? I’m looking to get something for podcasts. I’d like to chat about the Beatles and other stuff while I’m at home, which is a lot now given the virus. If I got set up, I’d be up for doing a show or discussion with you friendly fellows.

Most laptops should have a built in one – worth seeing if yours does. If not, it’s up to personal preference for quality of sound. Something like this would suffice for voice chat:
I’m more than happy to chat microphones – as a muso who did a music production course I can talk about them until you want to throw ripe tomatoes at me!
