Did i miss anything on this Beatles PowerPoint? I have 'band members', 'early life' for all members, 'the days in hamburg', 'the first single', 1 slide for each album, 'i saw a film today, oh boy…The beatles and movies', 'beatlemania', 'the greatest band', 'solo careers', 'fun facts', and 'my favorite songs and albums'
So did i miss anything?

I walked past Stephen Fry, one of my idols, in London today. He had a camera crew with him, and for some reason spoke to the people in the body piercing and tattoo section of Selfridges for a while. You heard it here first, folks!
I think it's great you're going through a phase,
and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple

Who the hell is Stephen Fry?
*20 seconds of Googling later*
Oh him. God , why am I taking so much time to finish this post? Oh well, it's Friday.

What?? Don't you know who the hell is Stephen Fry?
Well anyway that's ok. I'm so sad. I'm watching the homage that the hockey team of Dynamo made to Lokomotiv's hockey team that was killed in a terrible plane accident earlier this week. It's really sad.

I know the name when I see the face. And Mith, I hear you on the hockey team. Especially Pavel Demitra. He played for my hometown team, The Ottawa Senators, back in the day, and when I heard, I almost cried.

It's so bloody awful. I hate the team photo they keep showing, because it sets my mind reeling that every single one of them, save for one, is gone. That so many families have to deal with this devastating tragedy. That so many lives were taken in an instant, and the ripple effect of that is going to be felt far and wide. That it happened while they were traveling to their first game of the season. Most of the players had their whole professional lives ahead of them; Brad McCrimmon was so excited to finally be at the helm of a team, and wanted to eventually come back as a coach in the NHL.The oldest player was 38, which isn't all that old in the civilian world.
I don't have any ties to any of the players, but I can't help but cry a little over this. I want Galimov to survive and live a long healthy life after this, but he is nowhere near out of the woods and his survival is the only sliver of hope that keeps this story from being a completely depressing mess for me. This kind of reminds me of the 2007 West Virginia mine disaster where only one miner survived, and I always wondered if he had a burden of guilt he carried and how heavy it was.
I had been reading people whining on their blogs “Can we start the hockey season now, please?” just because we're in the middle of the summer doldrums, but now, having the season start would be a welcome distraction from the plane crash and the three player's deaths (suicides) that seemed to come one right after another. I think we're all looking for some happy distraction in the midst of all this.

Hello, I guess I'll start off with saying I'm pretty sad today because my dog just died… not to be a downer but I just wanted to share…she was the best dog ever, a border collie, but she was 14 years old and died of cancer. And I'm double-sad because of the hockey team.what an awful thing to happen.
Also I just arrived in Chile on a ski trip so I won't really be posting in the next couple weeks.

Because you've been posting so much this past week. I'm changing my avatar soon. And I echo the desire for good hockey news.

Aw, sorry to hear about your Collie. Fourteen years is a good long life for a dog, and I'm sure she knew she was quite loved.
I hope you have fun skiing and exploring Chile — sounds like you need a distraction as well!

That's really sad! I know what it's like to lose a dog, and though they may be gone you'll remember your canine best friend always. For now, just try to have some fun on your vacation. Ice cream helps, too.

Peanut Butter fresh out the jar has to be one of the nicest things around to eat. That and Frosties (the cereal) when first opened (but not together).
I eat peanut butter with anything I can, including (but not limited to): green apples , bananas, jelly (of course), waffles, carrots, and sometimes just by itself.

And I'm back from a week in Guernsey in the Channel Islands. It's lovely there – I recommend a visit. I walked through the park where The Beatles played in 1963 (though I didn't realise until we got back – we were on the way to the museum there).
I'm getting my eyes lasered on Friday. Slightly nervous but looking forward to not being short sighted any more. I'll be away from the computer for a bit afterwards though – apparently screen work can be tough for a while, so I'm not sure how I'm going to do my job.

Best of luck on the eye surgery, Joe. I just hope you still like what you see in here when it's over!
JET! – so sorry to hear about your dog. My heart goes out to you. We lost our dog to cancer nearly 4 years ago and we still haven't completey gotten over it. The only saving grace was, about 6 months after she passed, we went online to see about adopting another dog – that's how we ended up adopting our horse.
