Would any of you lovely Bowie people (or anyone else) like to give me a bit of artistic input? What type of umbrella is more Bowieish – a curved handle or a straight one? If it helps, this is the elegantly suited Bowie (à la Black Tie White Noise, not Life On Mars?) that I am asking for. In about 15 minutes, if no one responds, I’ll just pick one.
Oh definitely curved, hon.

^You, my wizard-friend/chief artistic consultant, and my intuition all said the same. Which is good, because it’s too late to change it now.

To paraphrase the late Jedi master: cool as Bowie with an eighties mullet you would not look, if an eighties mullet you had.
But hey, he told us not to blow it, ’cause he knows it’s all worthwhile.
but what if you were John Lennon and you were wearing sunglasses, or you were George Harrison in a turtleneck

My hair is medium length and I’ve been growing it for a while now. I go back to work in two or so weeks and today I made a decision. I’m not going to get it cut to satisfy other people, because I like it this length. It makes me happy, so I’m keeping it. If I didn’t have a job I absolutely wouldn’t cut it. After all the bushfires and other stresses I see how fragile life is.
Screw it.

Oh I thought you meant David with an 80s mullet versus all other things in the universe, not all other things in the universe with an eighties mullet. My mistake!

I got considerable satisfaction out of all the zoomers in the comments section saying how easy it was. Anyway, we all know Buzzfeed is trash.

Hi everyone! I’m trying to decide on a song to perform for my school’s winter talent show (where I’ll hopefully be singing and playing piano), and I still can’t decide on what song to perform. I’ve asked my friends and family for input, but they have yet to get back to me and I really need to start practicing as soon as possible. Here are the songs that I’ve been thinking about:
1. Across The Universe (The Beatles)
2. Behind That Locked Door (George Harrison )
3. Vienna (Billy Joel)
4. In My Life (The Beatles)
5. All Things Must Pass (George Harrison )
6. The Circle Game (Joni Mitchell)
Vienna is probably the most difficult out of the options as the piano part is slightly tricky, but I could learn it. The easiest song is probably The Circle Game, as the vocal and piano are fairly easy. I’m kind of leaning towards either Across The Universe or Behind That Locked Door .

@TangerineTrees I fully approve of your leanings. My vote goes to Across The Universe if you want people to know what song you’re performing, or Behind That Locked Door if you’re trying to spread the Georgspel.

I too vote for Across The Universe @TangerineTrees !
Also, on the topic of mullets, I would like to mention that no one will ever be as cool as Linda with her mullet.
I mean yeah Bowie’s was cool and all and Paul’s might’ve been sexy as hell but look at this rockin’ chick showin’ the boys how to do it right:
Oh, lovely Linda…..you will always be my Long Haired Lady

My school had a “soundstage,” which is kind of an equivalent of a talent show, and I played Across The Universe
However, I would like to throw my vote for The Circle Game. You’d be surprised by how many people in the audience really connect to that song. With that being said, please post a video of whichever song you choose.

This may interest some of you, David Bowie was added to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography today. First published in 1885, updated annually, it now contains over 60,000 biographies of important persons to the history of the United Kingdom. You must be deceased to qualify, (John and George, yes, Paul and Ringo, thankfully, not yet), and on modern rules, by at least three years so an assessment can be made of the person’s importance to the national history. Bowie (along with George Michael) has received an entry in the first eligible year, and counts himself among the 200+ added this year…
