I resolve to keep my Beatley moptop until at least early April, depending on the weather. The temptation of ’77 Bowie is strong but I will hold out till it gets warm.

The Express seem to have replaced Princess Diana with the Beatles, @meanmistermustard; almost daily stories lately done with little reason and even less connection to, or basis in, reality. The Express’ daily Beatles story is always clickbait.
More than likely. I don’t keep an eye on newspapers and whatever drivel is their latest obsession, I just see headlines and occasionally one takes my interest.
Here is the latest. The Beatles rarely listened to their music after they put it out, preferring to hear what else was about, and it’s very common for musicians to do the same so it’s a complete pile of wasting time.

Grow out the mop top until you can cut it into another classic rocker’s style

Yep — David Bowie in 1977
I just can’t stand it when it gets to that awkward growing-out phase. Plus, I live in the South so by March I need something cooler. My hair is really thick, so it’s like wearing a beanie.

If we’re going to include both Bontees, shouldn’t we include sir walter raleigh as well, since he had about 900 posts to his name before switching accounts for privacy reasons, leaving his official post counter at 4512 even though he has about 5412.
I’ve just spent the best part of an hour trying to find any record of how many posts he had before he changed accounts, and I can’t. It seems Joe did a great job at hiding the old account, he’s assigned the old posts to the new account but I don’t think they count to the post count, have a look at this post for example: https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..4/#p234080
It was made before the account was created…
Unless someone kept a record of how many posts the old account had?
i’m flattered you spent the due diligence trying to find my accurate post count. I didn’t make a post with the exact number in writing, but I’m positive that it was over 900 and less than 1000. Joe attributed all of the old posts to my new account, which effectively removed the other account from existence. In hindsight, it probably would have been better to just rename the old account and leave the posts under that name. Either way, i’m not huge into the post count race so I’m happy to just take the number it says by my picture, but for accuracy’s sake we can just add 900.

All of this talk of the old account does make me realize that my real BBBirthday came and went. I joined the forum on Dec 23, 2015. The years matter more to me than the number of posts.

Happy (quite belated) BBB!
I totally agree about years vs. posts, but the post count is just a statistic that can be interesting to look at.

The post counts are a lot of fun too, especially when people that I’ve been talking to for a while start to surpass the all time ranks.

I’m quite looking forward to when more people get into quintuple digits on the post counts, but I agree that it’s the years spent here that feel most special.

I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I can relate. I’ve basically been on a Led Zeppelin kick all year () and it was only today that I finally pulled out some Beatles shuffle to help me through some banal mall music. (thank u beatles)

I’m on holiday now, and always out and about, so I don’t get to listen to much music if any during that time for personal enjoyment, which is about 4 weeks in total. But I think that’s a good thing. It reboots my mind and when I do jump back in, the content is fresher.

Would any of you lovely Bowie people (or anyone else) like to give me a bit of artistic input?
What type of umbrella is more Bowieish – a curved handle or a straight one? If it helps, this is the elegantly suited Bowie (à la Black Tie White Noise, not Life On Mars?) that I am asking for. In about 15 minutes, if no one responds, I’ll just pick one.
