I get my GCSE (exam) results today! Wish me some apples for luck!
For once, I'm glad I can't read right. (I would have to assume The Walrus would be receiving them today as well?)
Correct. Three A*s, seven As and two Bs, as well as a B in Critical Thinking AS that I took a year early.
I'm pretty annoyed at the B in Critical Thinking, and maybe I could have turned some of those As into A*s, but I doubt it would have been worth my while. Expected a B in French (I did well to get that, because I got Cs in the coursework, but I did excellently on reading and listening), and the Drama exam was very very hard, so again, the B was expected.
I'm taking Chemistry, Biology, Philosophy and Ethics and Maths (Statistics) next year, I'm hoping to drop Maths after a year but it will probably end up being Philosophy.

I had a very happy experience today. We're moving into a new house, and while my parents were busy with boxes and things I decided to sit outside. And as I'm enjoying the sunshine, suddenly I hear the wonderful sound of “Get Back ” blasting from my new neighbors' yard. I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship

Well done with your grades, sir. Best of luck in your upcoming courses. If you maintain success in reading and listening, you are sure to go far.

Let's hope so. “Get Back ” could have been a suggestion.

Okay guys, I have work tonight, and then tomorrow morning I'm off to Reading Festival! I'm all packed and ready, and a little bit too excited about living in my own filth for four days. Expect me to come back on Monday with stories of how I met Julian Casablancas of The Strokes and he fell in love with me. If that is the case, feel free to virtually throw some cold water at me to help me snap out of my delusions. Thanks in advance! Peace and luuurve.
late on this but… JEALOUS! How was it? I'd kill to see The Strokes in concert! well maybe not a person…. but like I'd set a mouse trap. or squash a bug or something. a lot of bugs.
My first week of post-secondary education has officially come to a close. good thing, because I am exhausted from weightlifting and sprinting workouts….. whew. never even have time for a nap.
but the good news is I very much like it here in Vermont, and love meeting new people. and I have the weekend off so I'm looking forward to exploring and relaxing and playing guitar what's on for the weekend for you guys?

Well, I hope the hurricane stays away from your neck of the woods. (Gosh, a hurricane in NYC. Who knew?) and Jet , I take it you heard about Layton?

My weekend looks relaxed.. not too much work.. and the heat is not that terrible anymore. I might go to the beach tomorrow morning and at night there's a Beatles tribute concert in a local plaza.
And I'm listening to a lot of go-and-f**k-yourself songs. I'm feeling very Lennon-ish today.

Homework, homework, homework, searching for that new episode online, homework, and then a church thing for my weekend this week. So mainly I'm just trying to write a memoir for English and finish a Chem paper. Very boring stuff this weekend.

Oh grief, homework. I've spent however long it is now avoiding doing the work I was supposed to do over the summer. Right in front of me on my desk, there's my philosophy homework, which I'm more than capable of doing and I will find at least as fun as whatever I'll do this afternoon, but I just don't want to do it.

I did hear about Layton. Sad news. But looks like there's an opening for you there, Mr.S! Better get campaigning!
Mith, you're making me jealous with this beach talk. It seems to be rainy here very often… It's absolutely pouring right now and the hurricane is supposed to hit this evening. I don't think it'll hit very hard though. It's my first hurricane experience ever, but I don't seem to be too worried.

Well I woke up too late so we didn't go to the beach. Next week.
About the hurricane.. it has downgraded but you should worry about the floods. Are you in NY area? That's what it must worry you guys. I wouldn't worry about the winds, just keep away from windows (if you have duct tape, it would be a good idea to put some on them making a cross and then a line across the window) and keep your gas connections off.
Good luck!

I'm in Vermont now. Supposedly it has weakened, but we're not allowed to leave campus. There are some gnarly flood pictures from places nearby that are turning up online. Just a couple hours until the storm hits…
Thanks for the tips, mith. I don't have control of the gas connections but I'll try the tape thing.

do this if the windows are too large. If the glass from the windows is too small then it's not needed.

Ted has four official Beatles onesies, but they were always too big before. This is the first one he's worn. Doesn't he look grand?
Zig et al – Ellie's brother's wedding went well, the Hamburg sailor's costume Ted wore was brill, and the Hard Day's Night suit looked absolutely amazing. I don't have any pics myself but I was in some of the official photos. Will share when they arrive.
