Next post in this thread that witters on about what a great thing “over-patriotism,” American or otherwise, is, I am totally stopping biting my tongue and letting rip on why it’s not a reason for happiness but something that history has taught us we should afraid of.
I’ll completely derail this thread in the process, this is the wrong thread for this, as I said straight away, but why shouldn’t I have a right of reply even if it does derail the thread.
From the first post, “This is the place for jokes, uplifting stories, funny pictures, Beatles-related or not. Anything cheerful that will lift someone’s mood when they’re ‘feeling sorry an sad.'”
It ain’t doing that. It;s making me annoyed, and feeling like I gotta bite my tongue.

Warning: PW very T, this post will probably offend and is totally off-topic but I am OVER IT, to say the least.
@Ron Nasty, you’re the one making this a problem with your own projections. Never in my post did I even ‘witter… on about what a great thing “over-patriotism” is’, I was making a perfectly innocuous response to a perfectly innocuous post. If you feel like you have to bite your tongue because two people decided to have a silly little chuckle over the overblown patriotic branding of a f*****g PASSPORT, 1) that’s a you problem and 2) I have news for you… biting your tongue sometimes… that’s LIFE. You have NO idEa how often I, as someone with somewhat heterodox viewpoints, feel like I have to bite my tongue to avoid spurring threads such as these into heavy, off-topic discussions. I bite my tongue ALL THE TIME, as I’m sure many do. It’s part of the concessions we make to get along with other people sometimes. You’re not actually fighting fascists here. If someone posts something in this thread that doesn’t make you feel warm and happy (which happened to me quite recently), just POST SOMETHING ELSE THAT DOES and the post that sparked your annoyance will be forgotten, conversation will move along with no problem. Just like how we re-rail threads: we don’t spam the smiley, we just actually get back on topic.
With that in mind, let us indeed stay on topic I was going to follow my own advice but I know it’d be futile, I just know you won’t let this go that easily. You really do live up to your nicknomer sometimes, and that’s possibly the meanest thing I’ve ever said to anyone on this forum but I am really done with everything right now.
EDIT: Conversation redirected from https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..d/page-40/

I totally object to a mod moving my post from the thread it was made in, @Beatlebug, without any consultation with any other mod, therefore presenting my comments out of context.
Had you thought my comment needed mod attention, you should have put it under moderation and opened a mod discussion to decide what to do. Instead, you have used your position to move my post from the conversation it should still be a part of because you have chosen to take my comment wholly personally instead of viewing it in context of several comments made after I said I thought ASJ’s post didn’t really fit the thread.

Ron, I decided to move your post not because I took it personally but because I wanted to reply to it without taking the thread too far off-topic and not about happiness. I did leave a link to the page from which the discussion originated in my post. Perhaps it was a bit hasty of me and I apologize for that, but I felt it was better for all involved if our exchange did not remain in that thread and I moved yours along with mine for context more than anything. Also, you’re the only person who cares about ASJ’s post, I’m pretty sure no one else minds it being where it is.

In other news, I was able to track down the original 1992 version or Ringo Starr ‘s Everyone Wins. Its cool to hear him sing it with his not autotuned voice.

You don’t get to decide what other people find uplifting…..By all means comment….But it’s a tremendous conceit to think your wittering views can corral the happiness of others into a box of thoughts you concur with.

Haha my aunt hated that movie so much! “That’s not how the war ended!”I thought it’s opening scene was a gripping short film in itself.
The ending is great. These movie characters don’t know they’re apart of history so anything is possible. There’s a reality universe and then there’s the Tarantino universe. It’s like making a movie with the jerk of all jerks getting killed instead of John. Very cathartic. I saw Once Upon A Time in Hollywood and thought it was okay. Tarantino made less of a movie and more of a window into the everyday lives of Hollywood personalities in the late 60s. Worldbuilding, atmosphere, routines and character development given big emphasis. The ending was the best part. Won’t spoil it.

Have to say that 4 episodes in I’m loving ‘Pennyworth’…..Gritty backstory to Alfred from Batman……. Just found out it’s being written by the guy who did ‘Rome’ which is a definite top 6 series for me…..so no wonder I’m enthralled ……!
Set in a Gotham’ised 60’s London there’s been some good tunes…. Dusty and such and a reference to Cliff and the Shadows but so far no mop tops …The next episode is called ‘Cilla Black’ so fingers crossed.
However, there doesn’t seem to be any dilution to Alfred’s ‘Michael Caine’ cockney for American audiences to follow…..Americans, after GOT have become used to English dialects so maybe not a problem…….The script in parts is very funny.
Not for the faint of heart….. very graphic……The disembowellings even put me of my ‘bangers and mash’
Edit:
the next episode, (episode 5) is called ‘Shirley Bassey’…….But Cilla’s coming up soon.

Yesterday I heard a pedal steel cover of Blackbird on a local radio station. They didn’t say who it was by. Does anyone know about this cover? I’ve looked and I can’t find it.
What the name of the station? They might have a playlist on their website or you could tweet them to ask?

What are your thoughts on Maroon 5. Personally, i like their first 2 albums and that’s it but those 2 albums are great and very nostalgic, especially “This Love”, “She Will Be Loved”, “Makes Me Wonder”, and “Wake Up Call”, which i remember hearing on the radio a lot as a kid.
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

Yeah I can’t help but love that song. The music video is also pretty sweet. All around banger. Maroon Five’s first two albums I owned and listened to as a kid. They still hold up but sometimes i’ll hear a new song on the radio that I hate

I’m using my Gone Troppo album as a mousepad because my kid sister messed with my desk and did something to all my stuff and I can’t find my mousepad. I suppose it’s hardly the worst thing a record sleeve has ever been used for…

I always forget how much I miss @ewe2 when he’s not here until he comes back and posts of these rambly slightly kooky penguinrants.
Well i am a rambly kooky guy. Maybe a bit more rambly lately, it’s been a cold dark winter and I’m just starting to get help with recovering from my stroke-related stuff my GP can’t help with. I get very tired and scatterbrained and also dizzy and they’re just the highlights My cat is a big help in keeping me relatively sane and I have musics to play and write, it’s not all bad just challenging.
and yes, you need a slide, you can do all sorts of trippy s**t with it that has nothing to do with proper Harrison-style slide guitar
Yeah I’m going to try an open tuning on Sparky (the 2005 epi junior) like maybe G and it can be my crazy fuzz slide guitar as well as learning Harrison sliding.
Also the other night I dreamt about Paul McCartney , I never dream about Beatles like that and I got very worried about the news sites when I woke up.
