I loved how today randomly turned into a trip to Chicago and the Hard Rock Cafe. So many cool things were in the Chicago establishment, I couldn't stop wandering around the place! Probably one of the coolest things I saw though was Jimi Hendricks guitar from 1968. It was awesome to see, especially since if you looked closely you could see all the scratches and bits missing from the guitar body, it was so cool. They also had some other neat items like Billy Joel's jacket, a Dire Straights guitar, The Cheap Trick drum set, Bono's vest, Mick Jagger's pants, and John's bag from the early 60's. And I'm such a nerd that I got a picture with the bag and plan on making it my profile picture on facebook. Anyway, anybody else do anything interesting with Friday, Saturday, or anything planned on Sunday?

I cleaned. I used the rake so much I hate the damn thing. However, at least I was cleaning for a good cause. My Uncles are coming with my cousins, one uncle I haven’t seen in like two years. I’m very excited to see them again. Once they get in (Friday sometime), my posts will be sporadic till middle of next week, because I’m then going to Montreal with one of my uncles, my mom and my brother (boo). Montreal will be something else. Believe me, two ex Montrealers back in their home town? It’s a great time when I’m there with one – with two, it’ll be a riot. And Zig, who’s on the mound for the Yanks tonight?

I was at the Apple Store in Boston on Saturday, and Day Tripper started playing. I got pretty excited, and my friend and I even did the Your Mother Should Know walk down the glass staircase in the store. And then, we went next door to Walgreens and bought a few Yellow Submarine folders. What a great day

Ellie's brother is getting married on 27 August. I'll be wearing a proper 60s style mod suit, some amazing Chelsea boots and a black knitted tie my dad lent me. Basically, I'm going to look like an extra in A Hard Day's Night. Can't wait!

No you won't. You will be Michael Ignatieff. Watch. Then you'll return, claim you had “intense interest in Canadian affairs” while away, get elected leader of the decimated Liberals, and get your reputation destroyed by me, PM and Conservative leader. Have fun!
And Joe, give Ellie's brother my congrats. It'll be 1964 in your mind.

Joe – If it's not too much trouble, I'd love to see pics of you in that suit. I told the missus a while back that I had considered getting something similar, including the boots. She tells me I should, but I really don't know how it would look in this day and age.
If you can pull it off (the feat, not the suit!), it would encourage me to do the same. If you'd rather not post pics, I would completely understand.

Zig – I’m sure there’ll be wedding photos. I bought a sailor’s costume in Hamburg for Ted too – he’s going to look fantastic. I’ll post what I can.

Jet , would you prefer the NDP? It’ll still work. (And, my choice of parties in no way reflects the political leanings of anyone involved in this. Google Michael Ignatieff for more details.)
And Joe: How’s Ted doing? And what about Berlin is so great (wondering, not disagreeing)?

It was really good, but exhausting. We managed to work our way through learning 16 songs, one of which lasts for about 340 bars… Oh, and we wrote our own song in our cabin. It's pretty awesome. 😀
The theme of the concert is Macleod Goes Movies (MGM, geddit?), where we play songs that have been featured in movies.
I know that the choir is learning Blackbird , but I'm not sure if that's for the concert or not. What movies has Blackbird been in?
The arrangement they're doing is kind of odd, though.
I love the suit, Joe. It sounds like it's going to be great. Congrats to them both!
I'd love to live in Tokyo; it really is an amazing city. If not there, most likely Rome. Maybe München, actually, cos I'll actually be able to speak the language there.
I don't know.
