Mith – there’s just some unexplainable feeling about being there. It’s special.
Joe – if you want, you could steal these pics for the gallery – I wouldn’t mind.
Zig – if nothing else, I have the memories (and the Expos cap – I love that cap!!). And Zig, I have a few pictures from the Hall of Fame. Want to see any of them?

The same Lorne Michaels of “$3000 for a reunion” fame? Oh, and while we are on the Expos, I figured out that a) there is land in the heart of down town for a stadium, and b) that if it weren’t for a group of Quebec separatists, we would have gotten the stadium. As if I don’t have enough reasons to hate the PQ. Here are the pictures:
This was a plaque dedicating the beginning of the NL.
Just think this next one is cool for the gloves in it.
Zig, he may have bet, but he still could hit:
And Zig, when I saw this last picture, I thought of you. A LOT.
Enjoy them. They’re awesome.

Love the pics! Thanks so much.
Every year I keep saying “I'm going to the Hall this year” and haven't made it yet. I really like the pic of Lou Gehrig's locker. Whenever I think of Gehrig, I think of the similar circumstances he and Wally Pipp share with and !
Tell me I don't love baseball and Beatles. Christ, how my mind works sometimes.
Oh, and yes THAT Lorne Michaels.

Glad to have put a huge smile on your face. And Zig, nothing is wrong with your mind – I made that same connection. I have a couple of more pictures that didn't upload properly.

And the original plaques from that first induction:
Edit: Mith, I’m only the messenger. All I’m doing is taking all of you with me. And Zig, did the Islanders stadium referendum win or lose?

Unfortunately, it seems like a repeat of 1995. Listen to this song: The Guns Of Brixton. It's an old Clash songs my brother showed me. I regret to say it works well here.

Rejected. This article says they may move…to the other side of Long Island.
If they do, they will just have to turn left to get to Greenland.
Very cool Orioles pics. Hopefully Buck Showalter can help rebuild that franchise. He did it for the Yankees and help build up the D-backs. He's a good man.
Speaking of Orioles, here's a trivial fact you can use to stump your friends. In 1903 the American League team in NY was called the Highlanders and was eventually renamed the Yankees. That team actually was one of the original 8 American League Teams started in 1901 named…the Baltimore Orioles.
That was my Cliff Claven “little known fact” of the day.

Not surprised. NO waged a more aggressive campaign then YES.

With the Jays looking better (Brett Lawrie, Colby Rasmus and Bautista), a resurgent Orioles would be the worst possible answer. I'm sick of having to fight 3 great teams in the division – 4 would be all too much.

I remember those plaques from when I went to the Hall back when I was real little. I was like maybe four or five when we went, so that's the only thing I really remember. It'd be nice to visit it again so I can actually remember the displays next time.

Um, Zig, did you see the ESPN article alleging sign stealing by the Blue Jays? Here it is: http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/st…..ers-centre
I think it’s stupid, and false, but what about you?

This morning on ESPN2's “Mike and Mike in the Morning”, there was much discussion on this. The consensus was (and I agree) that signs are stolen in every sport. In baseball, they are stolen by baserunners, base coaches, etc… In football, by players, coaches, up in the booth, etc…
If your team's hand signals are being recognized and relayed to the other team in any way shape or form, it is your own fault. That's why catchers in baseball change the signs with runners on base, football teams change hand signals and/or snap count cadences every quarter.
Do I think there could have been someone in the seats in Toronto relaying signs? Possible, but doubtful. How the heck would you see him anyway? He'd have to be making very conspicuous gestures in order to make him self seen from that far away.
**picturing some schmuck flapping his hands with his thumbs on his head shouting “boogety boogety boogety”**
Even if he was. Shame on the other team for not changing things up.
To me, it's either much ado about nothing or a case of sour grapes.

I agree, and I would have agreed even if it had been my least favourite team, the Washington Nationals.
You're not bitter though, right?
It must really suck when a favorite team moves away. I know a guy in Cleveland who was devastated when the Browns moved to Baltimore. Of course, the Browns have been re-established in Cleveland, but still…
I know you have your finger on the pulse of the movement to bring a team back to Montreal. Good luck on that. I think it would be very cool.

Jet , it’s never to late to say I’m awesome!! And Zig, I think an Expos return will be on life support for a while. I will have to be patient, but it’ll happen. Eventually.
