Besides, I’m sure in six months we’ll actually find out that tea cures cancer and we should all drink as much as possible.
Exactly. Doesn’t green tea have like antioxidants in it that are good for you or something?

Only if you drink 699 mL at 59 degrees
Although I personally can’t stand green tea…

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I guess the albums he did just before and after, Heathen and The Next Day, might sound kinda sorta similar???
If you want an artist with a consistent sound, then don’t waste your time on David Bowie

Lol, that’s fair. I’m not necessarily looking for a consistent sound though, I like the early HunkyDoryish sound too.

Hunky Dory goes nicely into the Ziggy/Aladdin era, which is also essential listening for any Bowie/music fan. (Ziggy and Aladdin are more rock than Hunky, though.)

Ziggy, without a doubt. Aladdin is better-produced (not that you’re probably gonna care ) and has a prettier cover, but Ziggy is, like, THE Ziggy. He’s a wannabe-concept-album full of iconic tracks about the alien persona that made Bowie famous, pretty much.

More rock sounds good.So which do you like better, Ziggy or Aladdin?
I know this might be blasphemous to @Beatlebug and other Bowie fans, but I think Aladdin Sane is far and away the better album. Don’t get me wrong, I loooove Ziggy, and Rock N Roll Suicide is incredible, but Aladdin Sane is stacked up with 10/10 tracks, and the piano playing is on another level. The title track (with the most amazing solo ever), Time and Lady Grinning Soul are better than anything on Ziggy except Rock N Roll Suicide in my opinion.

@50yearslate YOU DO THAT!
@QuarryMan when I first listened through the albums, I preferred Aladdin Sane. They’re both very good and I think of them as a pair, rather like Rubber Soul and Revolver — Rubber Soul is the famous one that everyone needs in their album collections, with the most iconic tracks, whilst Revolver is more the domain of the slightly more hardcore fans, with the beautiful album art.

Very accurate analogy! Aladdin is definitely more of a completist album, whereas Ziggy is more easily accessible. My main problem with Ziggy is in the middle, from ‘It Ain’t Easy’ thru ‘Hang On To Yourself’, all of which I find to be somewhat forgettable and not nearly as good as the other tracks.

BUT LADY STARDUST THO with that glorious discordant piano and whilst ‘Star’ and ‘Hang On To Yourself’ are important to the narrative, I’d agree that they aren’t quite as solid as the other tracks.
Also my version excises ‘It Ain’t Easy’ (which I don’t even know why it’s there really)
Generally, I just feel like Ziggy is more… inspired, somehow, songwriting-wise, and yet it’s kind of an endearingly clunky record at the same time; whilst Aladdin was a more professional record but lacked the spirit, or something. You can hear Bowie being done with Ziggy and wanting to move on, but not really knowing what comes next, on it.
