I have a new guitar-related thing:
a Vox AC15C1! It is plenty loud First guitar I tried was Shona, the Epi SG, I was most worried how she’d sound but it was great, especially when things got crunchy! Much relieved. Then onto Siobhan the G&L Ascari. At this stage I was getting into the tremolo and reverb effects and they are both really good, much better than expected, the reverb actually has some drip, and the tremolo is beautiful. I dialed the crunch back to bluesy and things got funky for a while. Then I pulled out Surfy the Fallout and things got really out of hand and I cranked the main volume up to 4 o’clock and wow is that loud. Reggae chops on the top boost circuit sound just wonderful, and you can dial in a nice fat midrange tone that still sounds clean fresh and toppy. Tomorrow I’m going to test pedals out on it. I will have to buy a loadbox/attenuator sometime or my neighbours will lynch me

Some very unfortunate news for my blue Strat:The wood from the bridge had been cracking for the past year or so and it finally gave in.
As sad as this is for the body, you still have the bridge, the pickups and the electronics and the neck. You can get a new body and a tech can put them together if you don’t want to do it yourself. And a new Strat shall rise!

Recently I’ve been learning the Ukulele, and of course, I want to play my favorite Beatles songs. I have been using the site Ultimate Guitar to look up chords for songs I want to play, and I have noticed that many Ringo Starr songs are missing from the site. I have taken it upon myself to begin attempting to tab Ringo’s songs as well as other songs that I want to play but are not there, and put them up. I have done a few so far, let me know if you have any improvements or corrections for these, and enjoy.
Ringo Starr – So Wrong For So Long
Ringo Starr – I Keep Forgettin’
Ringo Starr – Old Time Relovin’
Ringo Starr – Picture Show Life
The Rutles – Now She’s Left You
Then I did this one back in high school just for fun. It’s a short tune from The Beatles’ Fourth Christmas Record: Pantomime, Everywhere It’s Christmas
There’s a few more I have that just need to get approved. I’ll update this post when they do.
I’ll post more as I upload them.

@William Shears Campbell Great work on the Ringo uke chords but I do have a quibble on Please Don’t Bring Your Banjo Back. In the lines:
I wasn't hardly gone a day
F G
When it became the scene
The first chord should be D and not a repeat of F.
In the chorus you have:
[Chorus]
F C
And if I ever see another banjo
G C
I'm going out to buy a big balloon
But I would say the chords are much closer to:
[Chorus]
F C A
And if I ever see another banjo
D G C
I'm going out to buy a big balloon
With the A as a passing chord after the word ‘banjo’. I’ve made the suggested changes!

I got the changes, and they’ve been applied. Thank you! They do sound a lot better.
I made that one back in high school, and I’m not super positive how I came up with the chords. I do remember trying to see the fingerings this guy was using on a cover of the song, and I also remember running the song through a software I had on my computer at the time. However, it would make the song into sheet music, not chords, thus it doesn’t surprise me that it is inaccurate.

That sounds great. I’m paying off a groovebox called a maschine mk3 so i have something like a drum machine/sampler/sequencer to plug into everything else which can do things the synth can’t do. And then I will probably buy bass pedals because I need bass pedals! I need a good envelope filter and a octaver at the very least.

Yeah it’s nowhere near complete, I’m no gearhead but there’s a bunch of things to kit out a setup where I have good basic sounds to work from. The problem is competing priorities for low resources. Paying off one thing means other things have to wait and probably get more expensive as the economy gets worse. Do I put everything on hold to get a guitar/bass before it becomes impossible to acquire within 3-6 months of saving/paying off (and thus holding everything else up)? Or do I put all resources into kitting out a bass pedalboard with pedals I may not be able to afford/pay off either soon? Or getting that expensive but great mike package? Or the mixing desk which I do need? I’m sure it’s the same for all of you, its a frustrating time when you have ideas and aspirations.

I’m very fortunate in that as I’m still living my parents I have no living expenses, so the only question for me is to save or spend.
I’ve gone the latter over covid, with the drumkit, more cables, mic stands, and a fancy schmancy audio interface which will be arriving shortly… 8 tracks to play with now!
Surely you’d go the guitar/bass first @ewe2, they’ll be the first to increase in price due to the recession.

Yeah that’s what I’m agonizing over right now. I was thinking about guitars because there are beautiful Casino Coupes and Gretches and cute Gretsch short-scale basses, but in the end I think I will probably try for a Yamaha BB435 which isn’t too dear but I haven’t played a Yamaha bass since the 80’s and they are solid basses, they have their own tone and the 5ers are good 5ers and I need a better 5er than the one I currently have and the BB is a passive model so that’s a win for me. They’re a PJ bass but the J works better than most PJ’s cos its not too close to the bridge. I did consider a soapbar pickup bass like the TRBX line or the Ibanez SR line but there’s something about the sound of those pickups that doesn’t grab me. I guess like the traditional sounds!

Yeah my biggest argument against buying another guitar right now as much as I want one is that the retail prices for some brands are already ludicrously over-inflated for their value. Epiphone and G&L are the biggest culprits. There’s no reason to be paying A$1k for a Casino Coupe or a Legacy when its RRP even at computed exchange rate and adding freight shouldn’t top A$800. So my argument has shrunk now to whether to go the simple route of a 400 series 5er or splurge on a 700 series 5er just for the extra bling and an active circuit, there’s only $300 in it which is a pretty nice argument to mull over I do think the market could collapse and things get cheaper here so I’m holding out on the guitar question because I don’t really need a guitar right now. Except that cute-looking made-in-Korea LP junior Epiphone on Ebayyyyy…
NOW! Speaking of great guitars and guitarists:
Like i commented on the video, anyone who wants to say Lennon was a bad guitarists, has never tried to play Julia

The only thing that I can offer to help with it is to say that the key is important, I’m certain he played with a capo because that lowered the string tension and made some of the barres and fingering easier. Back to the question of Epiphone Casinos, they’re released a new set of 3 matte finishes at a lower price, but that price seems to be limited to Europe because the Australian RRP I’m being quoted is the same for the regular models and won’t be here until after April. However that doesn’t stop me from saving up my cash and importing from thomann.de (still under the $1k threshold so no import duties hehe), so I may be doing that I haven’t decided. Still too many competing priorities.

Yeah I’m pretty sure he did, but I was having trouble with the fingerpicking rhythm before. I’m much better now (I think I can state that without risk of tooting my own horn; it’s a fact, I’ve worked on fingerpicking a lot in the intervening years(?) since I last tried it) so I could probably get it right now.

Alright, I’ve been busy adding Ringo songs to the Ultimate Guitar site which if you ever wanted to play them now you can. There’s still a majority of his catalog not on the site and I intend to add all if not most of it. I’ll continue to post, as I add.
These are in the order I posted them I usually just do whichever one I feel like doing at the moment.
Ringo Starr – Give Me Back The Beat
Ringo Starr – Mystery Of The Night
Ringo Starr – Everybody Wins (1992 Version of “Everyone Wins”)
Ringo Starr – Write One For Me
Ringo Starr – Missouri Loves Company
Ringo Starr – Who Needs A Heart
Ringo Starr – Lipstick Traces (On A Cigarette)
Ringo Starr – I Think Therefore I Rock N Roll
Ringo Starr – What Love Wants To Be
Ringo Starr – Let The Rest Of The World Go By
Ringo Starr – Imagine Me There
Ringo Starr – Heart On My Sleeve
Ringo Starr – Thanks God For Music
Ringo Starr – Love First Ask Questions Later
There are also some Christmas ones!!!
Ringo Starr – I Wanna Be Santa Claus
And also this George Harrison track from Early Takes Vol. 1
Here’s also the list from the last post so you don’t have to search for it.
Ringo Starr – So Wrong For So Long
Ringo Starr – I Keep Forgettin’
Ringo Starr – Old Time Relovin’
Ringo Starr – Picture Show Life

Then I did this one back in high school just for fun. It’s a short tune from The Beatles’ Fourth Christmas Record: Pantomime, Everywhere It’s Christmas
