Thanks all for your help. Since I’m utterly starved of any like minded musicians in my small farming town it’s nice to be part of a community of guitarists.I’ve decided to get these.
I’m pretty sure that’s the same kind I have, and I love them!

I’ve been listening to and playing a lot of Green Day lately, specifically their pre-Warning material, so i think i’ll be keeping my Fender in Eb with my acoustic still in E.

Restrung the new kid with some regular slinkys today (they’re the perfect strings) :
The intonation is surprisingly good for the action but I’m still going ahead with a new intonatable wraparound bridge, and I’m definitely replacing the tuners, most of them aren’t bad but one is unfixably loose. The tone pot actually works, like actual differences in tone and not on/off somewhere near the beginning or end. I’ll have a look inside tomorrow, it must have a good cap on it. The 700T humbucker is not too shabby at all, this axe will sound wicked with a P90 though. I’m calling him Sparky, definitely a boy. Sounds really good playing Day After Day by the Pretenders or Walking On The Moon by The Police. I put the bass strap on it and that’s really comfortable, will get another.

Thank you, you are a kind person. Have some guitar picks.
Never mind they’re all gone, too.

I have a collection of all sorts of picks but the only ones I actually use are 1mm black dunlop nylons for bass and .88mm grey dunlop nylons for guitar. I try out other picks but they don’t feel right, even the tortex ones are too slippery for me. I did have a max-grip 1.14mm at one stage, dunno what happened to it. I keep them everywhere, in my wallet, in my bag, pencil-cases etc.

I use Dunlop max grip .88 dull grey plastic picks because I like that thickness and I’m too boring to buy interesting picks*.
In technical emulation of Jimmy Page, I’ve recently taught myself to abandon my previous ‘whole-handed death choke’ picking for a more nimble, versatile (you can switch to blended picking in a blink), and above all cool-looking grip with just the index finger and thumb. It was no small feat to change my picking habits, but I think it was worth it. Yay me.
*Not true. I’m not a bit boring, but cool picks aren’t my priority because it’s all about the art, man and because I’m just gonna lose the feckin’ things and because I’m more concerned with using them than their looking cool.

I wish I could figure out that cool harmonic pinging trick that good guitarists do while bending. Also in pick chat, you wouldn’t believe how often people send you free picks with other musical items on ebay. I pledged on two bands kickstarters to make albums and I have picks from those too. Every music shop seems to have self-printed picks.
Pedal chat: I got the two pedals for a total of three, the Joyo American amp modeller, tc electronic echobrain, and mooer envelope. The Mooer is a proper envelope filter, which you could also call a touch wah technically but it has the same controls as the Q-tron. Very nice for wackky guitar stabs. The echobrain is a nice analogue delay, with awesome self-oscillation noises which I liked better than the competition. Now I’m fixing to get two more, another Mooer, the Shimverb which is a great deal on a versatile reverb pedal that also has shimmer, pretty much the cheapest shimmer you can get. And I’m getting a fuzz, there’s a weird plastic pedal called the Danelectro French Toast, it’s got a very nice warm fuzz sound with bonus octave up switch, also a hard to get feature cheaply.

WOAH. Talk about a Christmas miracle! Or as my friend corrected me earlier today, a Valentine’s Day miracle.
Reminds me of the time I put a pick in my pocket and later out came two. Hm.

Plectrum mitosis!
Anyway, I must’ve tempted Fate, because later I stuck my finger on the end of the G string. (The most painful) Or perhaps it had more to do with my habit of caressing headstocks like they’re cat-ears…
But I got a brand-new set of strings on my Sadie yesterday, after having only 5 strings for longer than I care to recall so you see my world is

Did you put those set of string on your guitar that was missing the G string and just left that space blank. I would’ve kept those 5 strings as individual spares or left the old G string on the guitar when i restrung it. Well i’m glad you have fresh strings on your guitar.

No, it was missing the high; I broke it during a bend in the guitar solo of ‘Money’ (of course it was a Gilmour bend), and only because my strings were already ancient in guitar string years, worn-out and deeply filthy. So I was overdue for a change anyway.
