The main site. I was drawn in by the site’s motto “Not quite as popular as Jesus” and thought it was clever. I kept marveling over the wealth of information and could not believe it was amassed/written by one person. I remember emailing Joe to tell him how impressed I was and then was equally impressed that he emailed me right back. Shortly thereafter, I stuck my toe in the Forum and have been reveling in it ever since.

To expand on my answer to my own question above, since Zig gave a pretty detailed answer…

I first discovered the main site around late 2008.  At the time, I was adding content to beatleswiki.org and I often used the Beatles Bible as a source, along with Mark Lewisohn’s books.  I no longer contribute to Beatleswiki, mainly because A. I realized that I bit off more than I could chew and B. Trolls took over and destroyed a lot of my work.  It was a couple years before it occurred to me to become a member of the forum.

“When you first discovered the Beatles Bible site, did you find the forum first or the main site (i.e. the info on the songs and history) first?  (For me, I found the main site first)”

I found the main site first when I was looking-up some Beatles songs, then I browsed the forums. I ‘lurked’ for quite a while before deciding to join, drawn in by the varied and supportive conversations (except of course, THAT thread).

Main site first. I believe I was caught up in the 9/09/09 hype and looking for detailed recording info. I spent a month or so just soaking in the site and adding the occasional comment on the various song pages before it occurred to me to check out the forum.

No idea, could have been either way. Probably just wandering thru sites and found a way here. I do know that i was part of another Beatles forum (long gone it is :( ) so I wouldnt have been looking to join and post here on a permanent basis and didnt as i vanished for months before returning. I probably signed up, posted two or three times and then wandered off, only coming back when homelesssf-cry – and that was probably just down to having previously created an account.

Back in the days when I was TheOneBeatle (both here and on YouTube) and the 09-09-09 remasters were just released, I was looking for information to complement my uploads of the 2009 remasters and my own remasters (really awful ones but that helped me to get better and to where I am today), so I fell here and not much later I discovered the forum when still searching. Funny Now And Then , due to my lack of knowledge of the meaning of copyright, I used to copy all the information Joe had done for the songs without crediting Joe or the site, although he did warn me via hotmail, but because I didn’t use it that much as I do today, my original YouTube channel got permanently banned/deleted/etc. If I recall correctly, 46 videos in total were flagged. I didn’t hold any harsh feelings though, it was pretty much my fault due to my ignorance but on the bright side, it led me to a chance of start all over again and being more active over here thanks to the forum.

Yours was one of the first avatars I really took note of when I started here.

And then you go and vanish for like three years! :(

So about a year ago I was looking for some good Beatley information and ran across this wonderful website. It’s very possible I’d read some of the articles before, but I’m not sure.

My first distinct memories of the site are reading the Paperback Writer article and seeing some forum posts about Beatles songs without drums which are in one of the trivia games. Not sure which was first. I do remember I was looking for a good song to do a cover of that wouldn’t sound so Ringoless and that’s why the forum results came up.

I just kept running into this site in a short amount of time and on Feb. 4, 2014, a year tomorrow, I joined you all here!

I’ll tell you how great the forum is officially tomorrow, but you all know anyway. ahdn_george_06

Thank you, @Joe!

I remember emailing you, but I don’t think I got your YouTube account banned. While I do ask people not to republish my work if I spot it, it’s rare that I follow up the complaint with the host (in this case flagging it with YT). I might be wrong though – it’s a while ago now. Sorry your videos got taken down, especially if it was my fault. All I would have wanted was the descriptions changed. Was it just the ones with Beatles Bible descriptions that got flagged? If so I apologise. I’m glad there are no hard feelings though, and that you’re back on YT.

Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs

Yeah it was almost five years ago (April 2010). And yes, the ones that got flagged were the ones containing Beatles Bible descriptions. It’s okay, Joe because thankfully, it taught me stuff about copyright and led me to start all over, reinvent myself and of course, being more active in the Beatles Bible forum. a-hard-days-night-john-6

Does it matter since its all garbage?

Today every single person who is a Libra is going to meet a person with a leg and because Mars is in line with Pluto with Saturn decreasing buying something that is red is lucky.
