I even saw one of the comments on the song say that George sang that part.

Don’t even go there. I’m warning you with peace and love

@oldfannz, my L5 is totally snapped in two and my spine is no longer aligned. I take pain medication, but it only helps a little bit. I keep considering back surgery, but that is a scary prospect too.

Yes, I do know a little bit about this sort of thing, though not necessarily your situation. I have severe osteoporosis, scoliosis and 6 vertebral crush fractures. I’m on medication for this and do what I can in other ways to promote increased bone density. I am on a forum where people have had surgery with varied success for osteoporotic fractures. Too late for me but I’m very fortunate to be quite mobile and relatively pain free. Therefore I ‘m able to walk a lot, which I should and must do and it helps hugely.

I hope you can find some answers even if it’s just some ways to relieve pain! It can really rule your life!

I can already tell that Ron Nasty (mja6756) would have really, really liked having you on the Forum. @oldfannz. I regret you never got to interact with him here.

@oldfannz and @Ahhh Girl — Sorry to hear about your back woes.  I too have had my own, for about a year now.  Long-term back problems can be quite diverse, with different stories & symptoms.  I won’t get into details, but I have found that cannabis — which incidentally I never used in all my life before a year ago — has helped me get to sleep at night (I don’t use it during the day).

I know my searching skills here are poor because I’m finding threads or being pointed to threads I didn’t know existed. And likewise, I’ve been reading really old posts that were written too long ago to reply to!

Also I’ve come across Ron Nasty (was he?!) on those old threads. It seems he is not here now from what you say. I can’t get his profile to show up. Can you tell me what happened to him?

He passed away last month. I still haven’t come to terms with the fact that he will never make another post on the Forum. He was 98% sweet, and 2% grouchy. He had very strong opinions on many topics. We all admired and appreciated his wealth of Beatles knowledge, and his willingness to share it.

@oldfannz, @Ahhh Girl and @Sea Belt, I’m so sorry you are suffering with back problems. Hugs to all of you!

Yes, Ron Nasty’s immense knowledge of the Beatles (and other music) was amazing!

He was never afraid to express his opinions, and I always found him to be fair and reasonable in his discussions. He is certainly missed.

I did see that his last post was in September but have also seen that he must have been here for so long and made an enormous contribution which I’ll never get to appreciate, being a newcomer. I’m sorry for all of you who miss him and knew him well. Thanks for telling me what happened, and I’ve read his last few posts.

I once belonged to a particular forum for many years (feline diabetes!) and got to know people there very well. My favourite correspondent there died of cancer and the place was not the same without her.

May he rest in peace!

I had kind of hoped he hadn’t left because of getting p***d off with the forum, so that’s one positive thing to me! Though that happens, for sure!

I know I’ll keep coming across his posts as I trawl about on here. I already spend far too much time here….

I take trips down old threads here occasionally, and invariably there are a few posts from Ron Nasty which were almost always chock full of interesting information.  Someone should collect them all into one place!
