I think I’d have to agree, Bebu.

And also, I hate to say this, but it behooves a young person to be aware that there are people out there whose friendship overtures will not be sincere and who have ulterior motives.
Indeed, there are strange people out there, but on the flip side it must be said that there are also those that have very genuine intentions. I personally would not approach someone that is, say, five or ten or twenty or however years older than I am if I wasn’t near certain that they were, in fact, genuine.

I have no idea about what was asked by @WeepingAtlasCedars.
I was asking what others thought of age gaps in friendships and perhaps other types of relationships, as well. Apologies if I wasn’t clear enough.

Current age: 52.5 years old, approximately. (In fact, my sister’s about five years younger, and we collectively reached exactly 100 years of life back in February, yay!)

@WeepingAtlasCedars, No. You were clear. I was saying I had no idea in regards to being able to answer the question you asked due to my position in life.

to answer weepyc’s question, I’ve made good friends with older folks from family connections or local/online music connections. My girlfriend’s dad is not crazy old, but a senior, and we get along great. he’s a huge Beach Boys and Dead fan, so its pretty natural.

I agree with you all that age itself is not really the deciding factor in how a relationship is going to go. I’ve had friends within a 20 year range and there really wasn’t that much difference. If I was going to zero in on any potential issues, it would be in the area of social activities. I have kids so I’ve always tried to stay up on current trends in food, music, news gathering methods, dating trends, etc… My parents never made any attempt to relate to new ways of thinking and I always told myself I would be different. I have no trouble socializing with people at work 30-40 years younger or with kids in the family. Unlike my younger friends, I sometimes need to let things pass with older friends that may feel threatened by social change. As far as romantic relationships, I haven’t ventured far from a 5 year range either way. That probably has more to do with who you naturally meet within the social settings that are appropriate for your age.
As far as what beatlebug said about trusting people, I think that should be a consideration. I was surprised during a conversation with some 20 year olds at an office party at how many of them use the Tinder app. I don’t think I would be comfortable with that no matter what ages were involved. I once participated in a forum based around house swapping. It kind of evolved into a fantasy (sort of like BBH). Someone got the idea to put up a poll based on how close your identity on the forum matched your real identity. As I remember there were 4 categories ranging from “if you met me on a bus you would 100% know me”, to “I am basically the same with a few hidden characteristics “, to “if you met me you would 100% have no idea who I was”. 25% of the people said they were in the last category, so good to remember some folks may use communication on the internet for there own psychological reasons. Nothing wrong with that, but something to keep in mind when defining the word relationship.

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, hoggy warty Hogwarts, teach us something please.
Whether we be old and bold or young with scabby knees!
Hogwarts at any time when Harry Potter or Tom Riddle are not there would be fun. I’d hate having Potter in school with me because I’d always feel like my life is in danger because of ‘the chosen one’ being there.
I’d love a world where Pokemon or something similar is real. I’d like to have a little permanent companion with me.

Fantastic architecture and magical nooks and spirits of trees and pools and things. Just that atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in another world, nothing specific.

That’s exactly what I’d want as well. Like jewel colored stars, multiple moons and other such things that instantly let you know that you aren’t in Kansas anymore.

I want to live in a world where it’s like a mix of Onward and the good fun parts of Harry Potter (like all the cool magical creatures yeet)– I actually want my Newt Scamander wand that I bought for sixty bucks at Harry Potter land in Universal to have a purpose besides me looking at it and holding it anytime I watch Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts (the second movie was a disappointment though oof)
I also want there to be druids and tree nymphs and faeries and stuff that would be cool
Also, what harry potter houses are y’all? I’m a Hufflepuff

I’ve been informed I’m either Ravenclaw of Gryffindor, but probably Ravenclaw.
I suppose I could care less, but I could also care a lot more.

I’m very sad that even though the Sorting Hat gets a new song every year this one never came back.

You strike me as being a Ravenclaw. I could also see you as a Gryffindor, I suppose, but you seem much more like a Ravenclaw. Then again, maybe I’m biased 🙂
I am a Ravenclaw.

I guess I’d choose to be in a forest filled with trees that would tell you stories and legends. It would smell like rain and it would sound like a constant quiet symphony. There might be some fairies and elves and the like. Hogwarts would be my second choice of course.
As far as my Hogwarts House goes, I mostly consider myself a Hufflepuff through and through, although I did get Gryffindor once on the quiz and I share some traits with Ravenclaw. I have far too many emails at this point from retaking the Pottermore/Wizarding World Sorting Quiz.
Have a great day everyone!

My main demand for a fantasy world is the ability to ride flying unicorns.
Potterwise, I can only speak for Von Niece (hardcore Slytherin, and she also stans Darth Vader/dark side in general)
